The RealDrums picker window has a lot of choices. But I cannot find a simple boom-chuck: bass drum on one and three, hi-hat on two and four. I don't want anything else added. Every drum beat in BIAB seems to have extra stuff added. Clicking on "simple drums" helps a little, but I can't find this basic fundamental drum beat that you would get if you bought a drum machine.

If you can't find the beat you need you can make it up with midi - audio loops - usertrack - user made real drums.

Did you try the following:

Right click on the Drums track in the mixer and chose "Force Drums to Midi Track"

Right click again and click on "Select Midi Patch" and see if one of the standard GM Drum Kits gives you what you are looking for.
