I managed to get a .rmi file pretty well into BAIB, editable and all. I first renamed the file from .rmi to .mid. Then loaded it into RB and saved it with the standard option. Loaded it into BAIB melody track, set to 16 channels and voila. I am able to mute/nuke the channels I don't want and keep the ones I want. Works like a charm,except...: I cannot find a way of reducing the volume. The mixer lowers the volume, but as soon as I stop and restart the music, the volume is back to the original. I suspect it is somehow hard coded into the midi file, but I don't have any idea how to change it. I am, as you may have noticed, not the world's leading authority on midi, so maybe some of you, who are real boffins, might lead my towards the light?
Compliments of the season, merry Christmas and happy new year to all of you. There I said it first ish.

Probably a Control 7 set to max. Edit them all out of the midifile with something like cubase, cakewalk or similar sequencer and re-import. F
