I recently spotted a couple of older RT's and styles with RT's that were listed as N/A so I dug out my saved back ups from 2012/13 and re-installed them and they now are available. Does this create any problems?
I seem to remember that there have been RT updates/improvement/enhancements so I wonder if there is a problem if I re-install old RT's or style files?

A fair question. As I understand it, the updates search files for date stamps so they would not overwrite a newer file with an older one. Thus it does no harm if you run things out of order. To be sure, though, just run the latest patches again.
