One of the newest features added in Band-in-a-Box® 2017 is the "Chord Theory" section.

Learn more about this feature when you jump to the explanation in our New Features Video: www.pgmusic.com/?vid=o60HpFwFsOM&t=1133

The Chord Theory section is a fun, interactive way to enter & explore chord progressions, and learn music chord theory at the same time! It displays & suggests chords that are most popular in the current key. The top row is diatonic chords. Other rows add additional chords that are part of the key, such as Dominant 7th approach, Slash Chords, Parallel Minor, Diminished, and more. This allows you to quickly enter chords by clicking on the most common chords in the key. For example, if you stick to the top row (diatonic), the chord progression will be a typical song progression. Choosing from additional row will add variation and color to the progression.

Great feature, indeed, but IMHO it could be even better if PGMusic added the possibility to audition the chord before inserting it into the chord chart: intact if you click on the chord name in the rows, you can hear how it sounds, but then the program inserts immediately the chord into the chart.

So i would like the possibility to click on the chord only to hear how it sounds (a "play chord" button), without inserting it automatically on the chart (it could be done, in fact, maybe clicking on a separate button next to the "play chord" button, for example).

Only my two cents...

Cheers

You may want to add your comment to the BIAB Wishlist if you haven't already.

Good luck!

On the video, the sound is played when the chord is selected (from the progression buttons).

I can't get that to work and cannot find if there is a setting to make that happen.

Can anyone help ?

Cheers.

Same here, unless I either 1) switch from ASIO to MME or 2)send midi to the hardware synth on my internal sound card. I think the issue is related to (or same as) the inability to trigger a softsynth when ASIO is used and transport is stopped. PG support tells me they're working on it.
