Patches for melody and solo that sound one way when played live are replaced with some other voice when rendered. Anyone know what is going on?

John,

What do you use to play the melody and solo? Is it an external synth by any chance?

Regards,
Noel

Have you tried freezing the tracks?

Soloist and Melody tracks are already frozen. They never change unless you explicitly change them. They always play fine when I play them directly. It's only during a render that they use a different synth.

When you're playing live melody and solo track midi data is sent to the DXi or VSTi instrument inserted into slot 1 of the track effect rack.

My guess is melody and solo track midi data is bypassing the track effect rack and is routed to the default built-in Windows synth when you render either of those tracks to audio.

That was it. Once I manually set some patches it started working properly.
