I just finished mapping a new song using all real tracks. As it plays back i realized the master volume reduces as it changes from B pattern back to A pattern. By the time i get to the end of the song i can't hear the ryhtym section over my acoustic guitar, even though it started out too loud.

The only real difference in the patterns is stick on snare instead of rim shot. I verified the volume reduction by watching the VU meters on the mixer panel - it's happening,

The style is _P128PNS.STY

Anybody know what's happening here?

Thanks, Furnak

I tried with the demo song 'Country12-8John Piano Soloist with Pop Band', and didn't notice any attenuation in the volume levels during the A / B sections in the playback (or in the entire song for that matter).

Check your bar settings (F5) at the part value changes. Are there any Volume changes (even anywhere in the song) ?

Furnak,

Is it possible to make the SGU/MGU file that you are using when this problem arises available for download? If you have Dropbox, that will do the job.

Then we could have a look at the song file to see if there is some obvious problem.

This is the second time in two days that fading out while playing has been reported. It might be significant because it shouldn't happen.

First post with a fading out issue...

Noel's suggestion to make the file available for testing is definitely worthwhile. It seems that there may be a bigger underlying problem.

Hi Furnak

Had the same issue some years ago and I think I used to following to solve it

Configuration Files

Band-in-a-Box uses the following files for configuration. If you want to restore Band-in-a-Box to the "factory settings" you may erase these files (or rename them).

MYSETUP.DK

This file contains:

- MIDI Channels/Patches/Volumes/Reverb/Chorus/Bank

- Patch Map

- Favorite Patches, Favorite Combos settings

- Drum Kit

(Each of the other .DK files also contains this information)

INTRFACE.BBW

This file contains info specific to Band-in-a-Box for Windows, such as the name of current MIDI drivers, Wizard status, etc.

If you would like to restore Band-in-a-Box to "factory settings" you can exit Band-in-a-Box, delete these configuration files from the \bb directory, and reboot Band-in-a-Box. Or choose Options | Return to Factory Settings.

This restores the file INTRFACE.BBW to original settings with the option to either include or exclude the MIDI drivers and patch maps.

Maybe worth a try
