This style count nightmare?
Thought I had better start a new thread as I don’t want to confuse the one that is running.
I have BIAB 2018 /507 ultra plus and the 4 extra style packs.
I have not yet got the 2018 49 pack that includes some more styles.(how many more?)

My style picker show styles found shows 6019
Style picker show styles found and not found 6065
So allowing for not having the 49 pack and maybe a few others along the way that were not included in my 4 extra style packs that seems reasonable.

But strangely if I list the styles in C:\ bb\ styles a get 8064 files, as I can only see style files in there what is that all about?

While probably not accounting for all of them (and I could be wrong here), I believe one of the anomalies has to do with multi-styles (the files should start with a plus sign, if I remember correctly). These are the style files that provide you the capability for "C/D", "E/F", etc substyles. I don't believe these files are included in StylePicker as separate styles, but considered to be part of the main style file.

That being said, reconciling style counts seems to be an every year thing.

Yes I see. So style picker is bound to come up with less.
It does seem using windows file explore is no help when trying to reconcile the counts that Style picker gives.
That’s a difference of 2000 give or take a few.

Hello Mike,

Your numbers match mine closely. 6065 is what I expect if you have the latest update. The Styles folder has over 8000 files. There are lots of helper files that aren't meant to be displayed in the StylePicker - for example substyles of mulistyles as mentioned. Also there are alot of styles that have an associated .STX file (which holds some additional data).
