When using one of the many styles with horns, I usually listen the various versions and then pick the one I like best and then freeze it.

Then I make a copy of the lead melody lineto be played by e.g. the MIDI flute on the soloist track.

This makes the tune sound like a real arrangement!

The copying of the upper note of the horns, obliges me to sometimes have to reduce the copied part to just the lead line, which is hard work!!!

Suggest there should be made a “copy option” to be able to copy just the lead of the whole horn section, to the soloist track.

I'm not sure BIAB can do this, and it is indeed a useful function. I normally do that task in a notation program where I highlight all the notes except the lead (upper) line and delete them all in one action. Doing this on each staff eliminates a lot of the individual note deletions otherwise necessary.

I know some also do this task in a piano roll editor. You can highlight a range of notes and blow away large amounts of the lower notes.
