scenario
im running the rebuild song list whilst in the song picker window.
can i open another instance of biab whilst the song re-builder is still running without it affecting the song rebuild .

I don't know the answer to that one. I suspect that it's not advisable because BIAB is rebuilding the list of styles and that is required for every instance of BIAB that's open. It only takes 30 seconds or so to rebuild. My advice would be to wait.

i wish my rebuild would only take 30 secs.....

my song picker window shows 19000(thousand) songs and its just taken about an hour to rebuild,is that normal? im talking about a full bb song rebuild not sub folder rebuild,
which is why i wanted to know about running two instances.

anyway ill heed your advice and just rebuild and let biab do its thing.

I'm sorry, I confused 'Song picker' with 'Style picker' list of styles.

I think that you should be able to open a second instance of BIAB with that running in the background because it is searching directories and creating a document file from the list.

It will be interesting what others think.
