Try monitoring from the Mbox interface and not the computer.
Plug headphones into the MBox and you should hear your incoming signal.
Send output from BiaB into MBox so you hear both at once.
Kind of like using the MBox as a mini mixer.
(?) I don't have an MBox but most interfaces work this way.

Hi Watson,

Let's go to Options - Preferences - Audio. What's selected as the Audio Driver Type?

Please click Audio Drivers next. Is the MBox selected in the Window that appears?

Thanks

Hi Watson,

Are you saying you don't hear Band-in-a-Box's audio output, or that you don't hear what you're trying to record in your headphones as you record it? If it's the latter, then we're talking about input monitoring, which Band-in-a-Box won't do for you (since it's not a DAW).

Monitoring would be handled by the MBox, not by the software. The MBox's manual should explain how to enable input monitoring, but if you can't figure it out, please let us know which MBox model you're using.

Thanks

Hi Watson,

It looks like that "Monitor" knob is the volume control for the "Mon Out" outputs on the back of the MBox, nothing to do with input monitoring.

I'm not sure the MBox 2 actually provides hardware input monitoring. One review I found online said this: "The Mix control has gone and so the Low Latency monitoring feature is handled by the Pro Tools software, just as it is with the 002 and 002R interfaces." I also couldn't find any information in the MBox 2 Firewire's manual about enabling monitoring without ProTools.

If you open your Band-in-a-Box song in RealBand and do your recording there, RealBand can provide input monitoring, as long as you use an ASIO or WAS audio driver.

Thanks
Kent
