Windows 10 64bit, Fall Creators (1803) users, be warned ....

Had problems IMO due a recent (automatic) Windows (security?) Update. There's something wrong after that: some audio plugins won't load anymore. Might have to do with some graphic Visual Basic C+++ changes ?

I noticed this with Cubase 9.5, but other DAWs and Video programs seem to be affected too, doing searches on this problem.
Rumors and forums are just starting moaning about it, and some expert posters blame microsoft; again a real misser it seems. I wonder if some 'experts' here are aware of this?

PS This free tool made by a brilliant Japanese feller, FLS-checker , showed i had enough free slots (in my case 94 or so) for dll audio plugins, but still some wouldn't load. In my case it had nothing to do with Cubase's 'plugin sentinel' ..........

I reverted back to an earlier boot disk image, from before this windows update, as the accused latest wouldn't let windows uninstall and revert this one. Double checked Windows Update had been switched off in services. -F

added UPDATED info:
cakewalk - fall creators
are we beta testers ?
Windows Update Switch
1803 - bricking Windows 10 - some PCs

Moral: Finally bought me a Windows 10 Enterprise version, hopefully that'll prove to be steady and stable ...

Guess what's this? Hint: it's the computer I'm posting this right now, the one that I usually use to make music with.

Installed music apps are: Studio One 2.6, BIAB 2017, Cakewalk by Band Lab. VSTs are: Toontrack EZDrummer 2 and EZKeys, Amplitube 3 and 4, Scuffham Amps S-Gear 2.71, plus a myriad of both 32-and 64bit 3rd party plug-ins.

As you can see, the 1803 upgrade's been applied the 05/17/2018.

Ask me how many problems have *I* had since that date? Hint: NONE.

I wonder... how come nothing of all the horror stories I've read in this forum ever happened to me? Am I by any chance protected by all the unknown, not understood forces of the universe?

I've had all the automatic updates installed with no problems at all. No conflicts with BIAB.

As I have stated many times over a number of years most of the so-called problems reported are because of the following -

Faulty or incomplete downloads/installations

Errors on the computer preventing complete installation

Disc errors or items on the blink

When I seem to have an error/problem I first look to see if anyone else has encountered the same problem if they haven't then I go back to a known saved image

Win10 updates have been killing my MOTU drivers for as long as I can remember. I have discovered an easy fix. When my audio stops I simply go into "programs - add / remove". Select the MOTU Audio, then "repair". After a quick reboot all is well again.

YMMV.

Interesting. I have never had a problem with my MOTU MIDI Express 128. However it is always on during the updates.

I have the MOTU Audio express 6x6 which can be a very good audio device, but at times I felt I needed an audio engineering degree (which I don't got). Meaning it can be a bit difficult to configure at times. Nevertheless, the MOTU drivers for me have been a problem at times. But nothing I have not been able to figure out so I keep it.
