Greetings All

I was working yesterday to add some RTs to an old SEQ file with a completed Chord Window.
It had always been my belief that when you entered the key -F- let's say - in its ToolBar spot,
that that would control any RT Generation that was started from Bar 1 . . . even though the Chord Window
chords do not start until Bar 3. (FYI - all upgrades functional.)

Surprise . . . not so apparently.
I found that since I didn't have chords in Bars 1-3, the RT Generation I did, did not start in F as was stated
in the ToolBar.

But it started in the key of C in Bar 1, and then changed to F in bar 3 of the Chord Window where the chords
were first entered.

So, what seems to be is that if you have a two-bar intro for your drum count, and you decide
you want a slow fade in from Bar 1 on a piano in Key of F, you had better have an "F" placed in Bar 1 of
your chord window. Perhaps this is common knowledge and I'm slow to recognize this due to my hearing.

BUT shouldn't the Key of the song in the ToolBar dictate the key for RT Generation from Bar 1 UNLESS other-wise
dictated by the Chord Window Bar 3?

What do you think?

Hmmm - nobody home out there I guess . . . or nobody has noticed . . .
or this wasn't such a great discovery 'cause I just woke up
to something everyone new.

Oh well . . . I'm not giving up using RB

Seems to me that if there are no chords specified at the beginning of the chart, then the root for the key signature should be implied.

I agree, if I'm in the key of F, I wouldn't want it to generate something in C. Of course, why would you not put a chord in bar 1 if that's where the song actually starts?

That's how I would expect it to work.

John, John:

But isn't it strange that the Key Window doesn't control right from the tool bar???

I often start "lead" RTS in Bar 1 because often you get a nice combination of intro notes
which sometimes you can move to Bar 3 or as a fade-in from Bar 2 etc.

It was just weird when my hearing didn't notice that something wasn't quite right.
