Real drums not importing into real band from BIAB. Help please

How are you 'importing'?

Did you save a file in Biab and Open in RB, or export tracks and trying to import to RB, or?

There are lots of ways to do this, knowing how you are trying to do it, and which version of RB/BiaB you have will help with suggestions.

Saving in BIAB and importing into real band. vs 2018 Just installed on Sunday. Getting an access code violation. an exception error has occurred. You can save the file and then reboot program. address 0040d1dc in real band, exe 0000000C

The drums do not import. I tried converting drums to a wav file and it comes over asking if I want 1 or 2 tracks. Either way the drums are no longer in stereo. The song also starts over again after it finishes. It loads itself more than once in succession.

Rich,

Have you tried opening the MGU/SGU file that you saved in BIAB directly in Realband? It's not necessary to import.

Also, when you startup Realband, do you rightclick on the startup shortcut and then select "Run as administrator"? (If this hasn't been set permanently on your system, let us know and we'll tell you how. It's different from logging in into your computer as Admin.)

Noel

I opened Real band as admin. and opened the sgu file as instructed. everything including the drums came over. It doubled the tracks and added a vibraphone track??? And the song repeated 3 times. I think that may have to do with the BIAB setting. Maybe I have to change the chorus to 1 before I open in real band. The added tracks is still a mystery.

Rich,

Firstly, both Realband and BIAB need to be run in administration mode to get the best out of the programs.

To set running as administration mode permanently...

1. right-click on the program's start-up shortcut

2. select "Properties"

3. under the "Compatibility" tab, activate the "Run as administrator" option

4. do the above with both Realband and BIAB shortcuts

If the Realtracks that you used had notation present, this notation will also load in as a track when you open the SGU in Realband. The tracks can be deleted if you don't need them.

To tell if a Realtrack has notation, have a look at the file in BIAB and there will be a line under the name if notation is present (see the graphic below where Bass, Piano and Guitar all have notation present).

Noel

Thanks I will set that up. I failed to mention that the information on these other tracks were random lines. I assume it was midi data? Don't know how it got there but I will go over everything tonight and reload the song from scratch.
Thanks Rich

It is midi because Realtracks notation uses midi.

okay, I still get the extra midi tracks for some reason. I just deleted them. Another question if I may. Can I replace the drum track with a different style in real band without having to delete the song and re-open from BIAB? I have looked but cannot find anything about it. I also notice when I switched the drum track style in BIAB the style name does not change in the box below the title even after re-generation and a reboot.
Thanks again,
Rich

Rich,

Since the topic has now changed and others may also be interested in how to load different styles of drums, I've started a new thread to answer you question.
