I thought if you ran it off of an external drive, then it would still render audio on the internal HD. Is there a config file or some place in the program I can change that behavior?

I store all of my songs on the internal drive, and I only launch and run the program from the external drive. I also didn't realize that you had to have so much space free on the external drive.

There's a setting in preferences that might help. See #3 on the image below.

I'm not sure if it will work but since it's possible to use Save As to save all file types, audio included, it's worth trying.
