I tried searching, but this search is so literal it returns everything with "lines" in it.

It would be great to moving things if the track view screen had gridlines, scalable by request to 1/4 note or 1/8th note. That would avoid a LOT of track view math, like I want this snare hit on the 1/8th note after 1 in bar 29. You have to move it to bar 29, paste it, and do the math to figure out that if a beat has 120 ticks you have to figure out where to put that event, at 29-1-29, or 29-1-59..... if there was a grid line like on every 1 there it would be easy to drop that event in time. Only know what a hassle this is because I spent an afternoon lining out parts that I added on a drum machine that were close but not right in time. I got used to that with Pro Tools. It works fine when everything is on squares but when I want to anticipate something it's a pain in the rump.

If it is already there and deeply hidden on a menu and I just don't know about it that would be best case.

preferably, toggle-able, and settable to whatever resolution you need for the current song

+1.

One work around might be to use the now timeline. Line it up where you want it to be against the quarter note and bar lines across the top of the tracks window.

Also, you can dedicate a track to use hand claps or click two sticks together to create visual timing marks.

If implemented I'd prefer to define the distance between gridlines by note value such as 1/4 note, 1/8 note, 1/16 note, 1/32 note or 1/64 note values.
