Can Band In A Box use third party software sounds like drums, keyboards, guitars, horns instead of the default Apple computer sounds?

When I play songs from BIAB - are the sounds from my Apple or are they sounds loaded up from BIAB?
JKai,

BIAB Mac uses the built in MIDI sounds of the OS. You can use an external sound module (hardware), but I'm not Mac savvy enough to know whether you can use another software synth. I guess that answers part of your question. Maybe somebody more informed will chip in.

There is a freeware program that you could have running that you could pipe the midi from Band in a Box to and it would use the Garageband sounds. I don't remember what it is called.....I am not even sure it would run alright on 10.7
It is called MidiPipe.

Are GarageBand sounds better than DLS? Doesn't GarageBand use DLS for its midi sounds?
