Step melody input from Midi Keyboard - 05/11/16 06:58 AM
Help please.
I am a bass guitarist and whilst I can read notation and know my way basically around a keyboard I can not play the keyboard in real time.
I am trying painfully to enter melody lines into my tracks. I can see how to enter notes using the mouse using the step notation window which is painful and slow. I can see how to record a melody line from my midi keyboard in real time, but that is a disaster because I can not play in real time.
How do I use the midi keyboard to enter the correct notes into the melody one note at a time - as in the mouse driven notation window but getting the right note from the keyboard. Ideally moving on to the next note position by a fixed amount (e.g. requiring repositioning using the mouse if note duration is different from a quaver or from the last duration entered)
There surely must be a way ...
