You likely can not automatically extend notes more than 1 bar using 2014 Mac. However, you may be able to manually extend midi notes.

PG Music introduced a feature that, when you are using midi, the notes of a chord can be sustained over more than one bar. This can be useful when generating pad sounds like bass, synth, strings or organ.

The feature was introduced later than 2014; I think it was introduced in 2016. I do not know if the feature is supported in the current Mac version.

The key is to use midi so you can manually extend single notes for as long as you want.

Hey Jim,

I think, I couldn't explain my problem well. Sorry, my english not enough good, yet. I choose some jazz standarts and I want to hear each chord with just long notes. For example; Let's say I have 4\4 time signature song and there is Dm7 chord in one whole bar,and I would like to hear just long D on bass and just long D,F,A,C on piano. Is it possible? (P.s. I have BIAB 2015 now)

Thank you!

hijazz,

Thank you for your added comment. I think I better understand what you want.

Band-in-a-Box and RealBand calls what you are wanting (one note or chord extending over one bar) a hold. You create a hold by putting a chord and three periods in the first beat of the bar. The chord and periods will turn red to indicate that bar is a hold. For instance a "C" chord hold shows up on the chord sheet as C....

So, you get all instrument tracks like you want them and then freeze the tracks. Then you unfreeze the track you want to have a hold.
Type the chord name and three periods in the bar, or bars, where you want a hold.
Regenerate the track with the hold so the chord sheet changes can happen.
