According to an email promotion i received from PG today extending their original sales offer ( TUE, JAN 9, 2018 ) :

Quote:
Band-in-a-Box® 2018 for Windows has over 50 exciting new features! Now introducing Video RealTracks which work like regular RealTracks but also include videos of the musician's performance. We've added a new audio driver system (Windows Audio Session) with ultra-low latency (< 25 ms on a typical Windows PC) so audio operations like playing or sending out information via MIDI happen with no noticeable delay. The Audio Chord Wizard has been redesigned and is now built into Band-in-a-Box®. The Audio Harmonies feature has been enhanced with Audio Transcription, which converts a monophonic audio track to MIDI (notation), Fix Tuning to fix an out-of-tune audio recording, and more. We've redesigned the "BB" folder so it is "clean" with only a few files needed and other files organized in folders. You can save the Notation window to a video in sync with the audio track playback. Notation support for time signatures like 12/8, 6/8, and 9/8 has been added. The Toolbar has been enhanced with skins and more customization. You can open or save ABC notation files, which are very common song files on the internet with chords and melody. Songs can now be saved as MP3 files in high resolution. M4A song saving has been enhanced and is faster. The popular Song Titles Browser is enhanced with more songs titles (now 10,000+), filters, and the ability to show titles that work with a specific style. StylePicker enhancements include a mixer-like control allowing clear display and style customization. The RealDrums Picker has been enhanced with the option to find similar RealDrums. The Audio Edit Window is redesigned with a new GUI and features... and many more!

Also, if anyone here is using the Windows version on their Mac Intel machines could you elaborate because i am interested in giving it a try.
I'm new to Forum. Recently switch to a Mac from a PC. I don't understand how the quote answers the question:

When will all the new realtrack paks be available for Mac users?

Can someone fill me in?

Thanks

I too would like to know when these features are available on Mac.

Has PG Music made a release date for Band-in-a-Box 2018 EverythingPak for Mac?
The user's (W) question was not when will these features be available in the Mac version of Band-in-a-Box.

W's question was is anyone using the Windows version on a Mac with Intel chips and, if so, provide some details about how to do this so he can give it a try.

There is no way for anyone to know when, or even if any of the new features in Band-in-a-Box for Windows will be available for the Mac version. However, Peter Gannon and others with PG Music have stated multiple times the ultimate goal is for the Windows and Mac version to offer the same features.

PG Music never announces new product release dates. Traditionally the Mac version release is behind the Windows version release by five or six months so based on past history I will guess the 2018 Mac version release will happen in May or June of 2018.

Thanks MR. Jim Fogle for the fix up and greater clarification of my posting.

You said it the way i should have said it and I'm sorry i made it so confusing.

Yes, my posting was indeed not very clear . No doubt here as i read it at this time that i was low on coffee.

All, I need is Real Band and I would be happy. Even though I have Pro Tools and Logic X, Real Band is the besrt to use with BIAB.
Islansoul, I agree RealBand is a most excellent companion program to Band-in-a-Box. Both programs offer exclusive features that compliment each other. I think many Mac users would appreciate what Band-in-a-Box has to offer if they could have access to both programs so they can see the strengths of each program.

For the last 28 years, we've had a PC version and a Mac version of Band-in-a-Box. The musical content is identical, and the features are similar. In the last few years, the feature set has become very similar. This is a great time for Mac Band-in-a-Box as it works well on the all OS X's including the latest ones. Our Mac sales are an increasing % of overall sales, so we must be doing something right on the Mac front.

We've always released the upgraded Windows version and then the Mac version a few months later. We never pre-announce anything, this is just stating what's happened for the last 28 years straight.
