Hey guys

Ive been playing guitar for a couple years now, but every time i play, my left thumb quickly goes into a cramp. I just cant get it to relax. Just now i tried angling the neck of the guitar away from me so i could no longer see the entire fretboard - only the fret markers on the side. This seemed to relax my thumb quite a lot!

My question is - is this how i should be holding the guitar? It would probably take me a wee while to learn to play without being able to see everything, but if its the way to stop my thumb cramping then im all for it!

Can any one advise?

Thanks

hi Rad

learn to relax that thumb and use it to hold/cradle the guitar in place and try not to hook your thumb over the fretboard ala Jimi Hendrix
