I know little of her accomplishments and much of her malady. Tragic and seemingly inevitable.

Tragic. Anyone who ever heard her music knew what she was dealing with. Condolences to her family and friends.

Hate to hear that she died. Was hoping she might get her life together. Same with Whitney (she was the absolute best singer ever). I never followed Amy's music. Listened to her a time or two just to see what she was about.

*I know that Whitney is still alive - rooting for her.

She was an old soul and it shined through her music. I have never looked into her other songs until yesterday and that girl could saaaaaaang !!!!

To be compared to Ella or Billie is an honor in itself. Too bad her private life overshadowed her music. She truly was gifted with an amazing voice.

If you haven't listened to some of her songs, do yourself a favor and listen to a few on YouTube. She has a little of everything and I have yet to hear a bad one.

The 27 Club is over 40 years old.
Why is it still here?
Could be something to this 27 thing. I have no memory of being 27. Which means I was doing too much of something.

"It is a sobering thought to realize that by the time Jimi Hendrix was my age, he had been dead for 31 years." (to paraphrase Tom Lehrer)
