I was blessed, lucky, and maybe guided a bit to be lucky enough to
work for a major corporation in the "Technical Services" dept.,
instrumentation, electronics then into computers/software.

What this meant with all the varied interests of the other folks
the breaks and lunch were usually hotbeds of Ideas, B.S. and just
plain time to learn, share and ask questions, or answer them.

After retiring in 95, took me a few years, but really missed that
interaction.

This off topic forum is fantastic, along with the other forums,
but the subjects albeit varied are always interesting, helpful.
Am mostly doing silent venting of my feeling regarding whats going
on around us all.

So I tip my cup of coffee and a little time reviewing your subjects
and answers.

Thank you,

Seeker
My fav. moments were always spent at 8 a.m. after being out all night on an arson investigation, hanging around in a squad room as the outgoing shift left for work. Discarded coffee cups and butts. Smoke hanging around. That's sterilized a bit now. No more smoke. No more booze in cups with the guys in the deal.

I get odd inspirational moments from various places now.

My wife and I went to the mall after she got home tonight. Had some stuff to buy.

I love watching people, I can get kids to respond with smiles and winks and nods. And the pretty women from 18 to ....ha.
My biggest problem with being retired is that now I don’t get any vacation!
And suddenly "the weekend" loses that special appeal - used to look forward to the weekend.

Now Fridays are like Saturdays - but shopping is better early Mondays and Tuesdays - fewer people at the mall.
I too drink my morning coffee while reading the latest Forum postings.

Cheers to the PG Coffee Club - I notice we have some real early risers here.

Old piece of humor... A Cajun friend of mine told me this many years ago.

Q: When your retired, How do you tell which day of the week it is ?

A: The Fat Paper comes on Sunday and the rest of the days are Saturdays.
