Some of you may already know about the DNS Name Changer. If not, following is a link to a purely technical article on foxnews.com. In short, DNSNC is a bit of nastyware which, if present on your computer, will prevent access to the internet on or after 12:01 a.m. EDT on Monday, July 8.

Even if you do I recommend that you read this article. Toward the end there is a link (not clickable) to an FBI-hosted page of resources and further links to tell you whether you are infected and how to clean your PC if you are. It's a simple go-no go test which takes seconds. Best to be prepared and take action now.

Thanks Ryszard.
I had not heard of this. I do recall Facebook (which I seldom use) sent me a note saying that my Facebook password may have been compromised (maybe a year ago) and that I should change my password . . . which I did. Hmmm? Better investigate this I guess before Monday.
Here is some Canadian perspective on the story. I've got four computers on line . . . .I'm gonna be busy checking this out.

Thanks again - Ian.
Here's a link to the site which checks your computer for the DNSChanger malware.

If the image has a Green Background your computer is OK.
If the image has a Red Background your computer is infected.

Set your router up for

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Those are Google's DNS servers and they WON'T be suspect. Ever.
Checked all my stuff and am green to go!
