Ran across this YouTube, thought it worth the sharing.

"ulti-Platinum Selling Producer Ted Carfrae explains the benefits of recording a COMPLETE performance opposed to piecing together a singer's vocal line by line or word by word."

Here we have Mr. Carfrae emphasizing how important it is to prepare that lead vocal by practicing until you have internalize the entire song and can sing it from beginning to end and how important that is to do rather than attempting to piece it together using technology.

This is exactly what I've meant when I say, "A recording is a permanent record of a performance. Therefore it is important to first have a performance that is worth making a permanent record of before attempting to do so." Or, "You can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Work hard on your performance. Such work pays huge dividends, both live and in the studio.
