Josie turned me on to BandiCam but the FREE version is limited to 10 minutes recording time.

I'd like to record friends' performances on Street Jelly as gifts for them. Typically one hour shows.

I don't know enough about the various video format but want the best quality available.

What are you folks using?

FREE is the operative word.

Don, I don't know if this was mentioned previously, but can CamStudio do what you want?

I've been pointed to BB Flashback Express and the GUI is great. It's not time limited and has a nice feature-set.

That looks pretty good Don, it should do what you want. However if not I was going to suggest OCam which is the system I have, you can select all or different area's of your screen to record with it, and does have a quite impressive list of different formats you can record in. Have a look here :-
