Must play mandolin songs - PG Music Forums

Mandolin players, give me a list of mandolin songs I should learn to play to build up my repertoire so I can start doing mandolin gigs. I mostly looking into bluegrass, celtic, Italian, and jazz music, but I'm open to suggestions.

P.S. I want to be able to have the sheet music for the song recommendations.

There are not many mandolin players on this forum, and I cant think of any songs that would be called 'mandolin songs.' Rather, the mandolin plays a part in many styles of music, including the styles you mention.

Once you know the names of the songs you want to learn, google them this way:

'song title' biab

You will find tons of songs that users have created in BiaB and posted on the Web. Usually they include the melody notes.

Thanks, I wasn't thinking about mandolin specific songs, but songs that mandolin players should learn.

I didn’t have time for a more detailed answer earlier because I was headed to work. The link I posted before has tons of mandolin songs in a wide variety of styles. The instruction material is written in standard notation and TAB.

A lot of it will include video and all of it will include audio and sheet music.

I highly recommend it and no, I’m not affiliated with the provider.
