I know many here aren't familiar with King Crimson, but I found this live performance by Adrian Belew on youtube and was totally amazed.

I hope someone enjoys or appreciates. If you know the song/band, it is truly impressive.
You'll notice; the audience obviously knows the song and claps along (and sings backups) in 7/8 time (just guessing on time sig).. but this was one of the few times I've watched a musician and said "wow".
Funny part is he is only demonstrating HIS part in the song's live performance ..

/I guess I give up .. I could never pull that off!

Absolutely sensational. What talent.

Live as well! (No room for Take-Two)

Meeting/spending time with Belew is on my bucket list.
He's a hidden gem in my opinion.
I've been blessed meeting many great musicians, but he's still on my list .. and possible, unlike some (like Bowie).

/Time keeps flowing like a river... to the sea
for reference, this is the whole band playing the same song live

Watching Belew carry this song as an acoustic solo is really impressive. It's a really complicated song.
Like I said, not everybody will appreciate this, but I do

Insane when you consider that the rest of the band that he fills in nicely is Bill Bruford, Tony Levin and Robert Fripp! My buddy bought me that album for high school graduation.

Very nice and yes the second part is in 7 while the first part is in 6. 7 can throw you off if you've never done it but it's actually very easy. During that part of this song count 1-2-3-4-1-2-3. You'll hear that fits his vocal rhythm perfectly, do that a few times and it'll lock in.

I hear a jazz version of this, hmmm...

He has a great sense of humor..

His name is not well known, but he has played with/written with the very best of them over the years

Robert Fripp is no slouch either!

No he isn't.
I was 20' from stage at a King Crimson show about 35 years ago. It was actually an intimate bar setting; 300 max each party with a round table. Not a concert situation at all, much more intimate.
Belew, Fripp, Bruford and Levin. In their prime.

Every one of them was/is amazing. As a group even more so.
Something to aim for.
It wasn't until recently that I learned that Fripp was the one who organized and funded the tour. Class act.
Would I like to meet Fripp too? Absolutely .. but he resides on the other side of the pond. Belew is much more accessible. Dang near local in comparison (sometimes).

For Scott (RockStarNot) it was Harpos, front tables. Mt Clemens area.
Scott lived here back in the day, may be able to relate to the setting.

King Crimson is absolutely incredible - oh how I wish I would have had the chance to see them together live at their prime! In The Court Of The Crimson King and Red are two albums that are definitely in my top 20.

Thanks for sharing that video! Absolutely mind blowing as usual smile
