Satellite Debris

hand me up those skyhooks
with an I-link I can finish the deck
so glad we saved vacation credits
for the super suction space magnet

we`ll build a lighthouse island
an island of space weapon junk
scour the Exosphere static
on our rocket renovation treasure hunt

come come with me
out past the periphery
little darling its almost free
we`ll make a mansion
a mansion from satellite debris

sitting on our Sputnik sofa
hand crank the revelation
they`re playing Memories of the Future
on Fallout Radio there`s one station

such a waste of mind
to wonder how all this crap got here
close the galaxy blind
have a beautiful Ballistic craft beer

come come with me
out past the periphery
little darling its almost free
we`ll make a mansion
a mansion from satellite debris

Fun and quirky space song and creatively quirky video. Enjoyed it.

I haven't heard anyone reference skyhooks in years! laugh

Cool write, the guitar solo fits perfectly with the quirky style.

Nice outro, too!

Scott / Robert,

Loved it! Great song. Excellent vocals, guitar and production. It has a hint of early Bowie - very cool!

Another Spirit Level winner!

Hey Ya'll

As I said on Soundcloud, cool and quirky in the best of ways! A creative and innovative lyric. Somewhere down the road, this would almost certainly be a problem.

My favorite couplet:
They're playing Memories of the Future
on Fallout Radio there`s one station

I like that Robert's vocal is a little more out front than usual - I think that gives the song more "character" and validity, noting the message.

Scott, your guitar lead is spot on! Nicely done.

Nicely done, folks! Happy New Year!\

Very cool and original as per usual, Robert and Scott!

Good lyric (love the "have a beautiful Ballistic craft beer" line wink ) and vocal, and just the perfect guitar part, Scott. Loved the outro!

Unique, quirky, unconventional, space, and above all cool. Nice upfront vocal and I especially liked the slide guitar. The outro had the extra sauce. Fun listen,Tom

Very original concept, coherent narrative and killer execution. Really fun listen from beginning to spooky end. Enjoyed everything about it.

Plush opening, and I like when it cleared to bring in that cool guitar and Robert's vocal. Excellent and unique lyrics. Love your mind, Robert. Scott, your taste on what to play and your ability of technique in playing it is always so professional and creative. That interlude at near 2:00 was kinda cool how it was panned for the last 2 measures. Cool AI vidz, too. "A mansion from satelite debris." Yeah, the future. Hope we get a campsite near yours to keep our spirit level high.

Only Spirit Level can create this kind of a SciFi story. All of their songs create a unique and versatile otherworldly universe.
Cool chord progression, nice melancholy mood suits the folk approach. Scott's guitar plays memorable hook. Robert's vocals and vocal range are very enjoyable.
Very interesting intro & outro take to a journey through the debris.

Thanks Mary. So glad you liked the song. Yes I was playing with automation and the panning for some of the slide guitar parts. Thought it would give a spacey signal kind of vibe.

Pretty interesting and different lyrics, even though I heard "I can finish the dick" first and was a bit, um, worried shocked
But I like the song and the kind of esoteric mood you create.

Excellent session guys, mix and the ukulele was a great choice too!

This was most enjoyable, Scott, and you and Robert were at your best in this one.

Excellent supporting video also.

Happy New Year!

Scott and Robert,

As always, I am impressed by Robert's high level of awareness of issues.
I believe that the issue of space debris will continue to trouble human beings even more.
First of all, I was surprised at how great the video was.
The usual style of vocals and guitar are added to it, making it even more wonderful.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.

Scott & Robert,
I can't believe I have not posted feedback on this. This is actually my third time listening to it at different times. So no distraction this round smile

Amazing tune. I really like the theme. Fantastic lyrics & guitar playing. It is very different, less busy / airy arrangement tune and it works very effectively showcasing your skills. Very cool FX and ending.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi Scott and Robert,

What a good thought; making useful stuff from space debris!
And very creative too! For a song of course...
At the start of the song, all that splashing immediately gives an idea of all that rubble.
But you changed it into a most wonderful song, only Spirit level can do.

I enjoyed the lyrics, although they are -of course- a bit difficult to understand, even with Google translate.
Roberts' vocals are very good, a bit airy, but he was in space of course.
And Scott did a very very nice solo here. You are really a good team!
As Misha said, the effect at the end is very cool.

Thumbs up!
Hans
