The Graveyard is a subject where not many songs are written about, unless you're into heavy metal. smile
They can be very uplifting places to roam, I was a grave digger for seventeen years would you believe. smile
I wrote this song with the help of a friends lyrics.
I'm singing, playing rhythm on my old Guild D35 with embellishments here and there.

The Graveyard

The graveyard is a strange place
Full of trees and grass and stones
Where the dead are laid to rest, with their bones

But in the dead of night
When the moon is at it's height
Ghouls drift around all dressed up in white

Breeze on our faces a chill in the air
Walking through fields all laid bare
I love to hear the stories, of people in the ground
Did they laugh and did they cry, did they love

We enter the graveyard
Through the heavy iron gate
Where wolves howl and they brandish their tails

Looking at the headstones
All is silent 'cept the wind
Salute up to heaven smile, at the sky

Beautiful song, I have a weakness for 3/4.
Good vocals and guitar playing, and the general production (minus the drums, they could have a couple of dB more) is pretty good.
Enjoyed the listen.

Nicely done, very pretty song (despite the theme smile
Enjoyed it.

Hi, Brian.

Nice song - singing and arrangement.

I was a bit confused with this rather fantastical description:

But in the dead of night
When the moon is at it's height
Ghouls drift around all dressed up in white

...since it didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the song.

17 years being gravedigger? That's a lot of backhoe work!

Brian, really nice song, nicely sung! Love the arrangement and that soloist sounds great. Cemetery themes can be nice (like this one) but not everyone's cup of tea. I think you pulled it of GREAT!

Nice sound you have here and apart from a couple of lines (ghouls and wolves brandishing tails) that seem outside the general sentiment of peace and memory it works well.

Very cool song, Brian. I share your feelings for graveyards. What a cool song. This is a perfect song for walking through graveyards. I particularly like the old ones, and also make up stories from the headstones. Wonderful song. I always get to know the guys that work there --always insteresting folks with plenty stories to tell.

Thanks all for your comments much appreciated.
I agree with the extra 2dB on the drums will render again with that in mind.
Looks like I may have to "bury" the ghouls and wolves and write another verse. smile

A song about a graveyard, I dig it!
Super vocal
"I love to hear the stories, of people in the ground
Did they laugh and did they cry, did they love" what a great line!
Super backing track and excellent rhythm guitar playing.
A really liked the groove and mix.

Hi Brian.

This is great listening! I love your singing. You have a super voice and an awesome range!
The arrangement is excellent and showcases your talent well.
I also love 3/4 time and, from the start, you captured my imagination.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey you took me one.

Best regards,
--Noel
