"Under The Skies Of America"

The other day I was thinking about 1955
December in Montgomery and the passing of time
Black and white TV and Ike in the news
A dollar bought you lunch or paid your union dues

Chorus:
Hey, hey Rosa
Have we finally seen the light?
Freedom in the air flying high as a kite
Hey Rosa, I'm still dreaming under the skies of America tonight

The other day I was thinking about 1963
Vietnam a pillbox hat and John F. Kennedy
The times they we're a-changin' right before our eyes
But money, war and politics are not easily disguised

Chorus:
Hey, hey Jackie
Have we finally seen the light?
Revolution in the air flying high as a kite
Hey Jackie, I'm still dreaming under the skies of America tonight

Today I was thinking about this new century
Triumphs and troubles from sea to shinning sea
Are the days so much different are the voices getting bolder?
When Bob sings Maggie's Farm I can see we're getting older

Chorus:
Hey, hey Everybody
Have we finally seen the light?
Resurrection in the air flying high as a kite
Hey Everybody, we're still dreaming under the skies of America tonight
As always nice work! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Robert. So glad you enjoyed it.
Very cool song! Nicely done.

My own little commentary on current events is that this is the face of world war three. Not power against power, but people against power. People can only take so much crap before they snap.

Anywho, great song you two!

Dan
Thank you Dan!

Power to the People right on....oops that's another song. LOL.
Seriously, we're very proud this song invites you to think about where we've been and where we are - and does it in a positive way.

So glad you like it!
Hi Josie and Bob,

What a terrific song! I love the way the song builds and builds, culminating in the final chorus. The emotional impact was sensational; a wonderful, powerful payoff. I could hear Fifth Dimension singing this song.

Josie, your harmonies were exceptional.

There's no doubt in my mind that this is songwriting excellence.

All the best,
Noel

Bob and Josie,

I really like this song! It has the feel of a 60's protest song, but yet it is hopeful and ultimately uplifting. I like the way the song builds. You two make a great team!
