Music for a Spaghetti Western.

90dB - Captured that sound perfectly! Great job - and a nice mix. The "shots" + trumpet at the end were really nice. Do they still make Spaghetti Westerns?

BTW, your link throws up a "Login/Signup" screen which won't let you get to the song unless you click the play button right away. At least it did for me.

Thanks for listening and commenting. I think I fixed that link. Not as computer-savvy as the average 12 year old!

Bob - that did fix it.

Nice score.
But Ennio Morricone would put some reverb on the trumpet.
Like it.

For some reason I picture "Antonio Banderas"
riding in off the plains...

Really nice work on this arrangement.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. There really is a ton of reverb on that trumpet - just hard to hear with all the other reverb!

Sounds pretty good to me. What instruments did you use from PG Music (and elsewhere)? What trumpet was that? ... other horns? Good composition here, maybe a trifle long, though.

I like it... the early chords are reminiscent of Del Shannon's RUNAWAY. Like Kevin, I'd like to hear a little about how you made it.

Kevin,

Thanks for the kind remarks. The basic tracks were BIAB (one of the Latin Boleros I think), and the horns, strings, cellos and choir were all GPO, done in Sonar. I actually wrote lyrics for it, but when I did a vocal track, I liked it better as an instrumental. The lyrics were trite. It is a bit long, but I got carried away.

Great track! I also have some questions about how you did it:
--what was that "rattlesnake" sound at the beginning?
--what do you mean by "GPO"?

Definitely soundtrack...I think that if you were to use lyrics, you should introduce your horn idea earlier, then reprise it later..but if you leave it as a soundtrack piece, then it works just as it is.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the kind remarks. The "rattlesnake" sound is actually a sample of a tamborine hit that I programmed to repeat. "GPO" is the Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Janice says she can see Clint squinting into the sunset!

Well done and one for the sync libraries ... very cinematic!

Enjoyed it -- dunno how we missed this when first posted.

"J&B",

(Now, that's some good Scotch there, ya know)

Thanks. Glad you liked it.

I really have to apologize for bumping this thread (Should be a record - 10 years! blush), but when Brian put his "Esperanza" up, I realized that I had a song with the same title. I found my User Showcase post but it had an old Reverbnation host that was no longer valid.

I edited the old post and it got bumped up automatically. I probably should have known it would do that, but I'm only working with half a brain these days, so I beg the Forum's pardon.

That being said...I've still got the record for the Longest Bump. grin

Regards,

Bob

Bob, I'm fascinated by the fact that we both came up with the same title for a spaghetti-western theme at around the same time.
I have just trawled through a stack of back-up CDs to find that my earliest version of Esperanza (created entirely with midi) dates from February 2011.
