Here is a recording I have done of “It came upon a midnight clear” from Josie’s list of public domain Christmas carols. After much fafing around I removed most of the backing and was just left with just the piano from the style. My vocal recording has some ‘cracks’ that I don’t know how to get rid of, but anyway I hope you enjoy it.

Key=D , Tempo 100, Length (m:s)=2:26
No intro. 57 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 57. Repeat x1 chorus
No Melody
No Soloist track.
Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0,
Style is _POPCALP.STY (PopCalypso Even 8ths [100RS])
RealTracks in style: 1422:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopCalypso Ev 100

Joanne, I liked the "piano only" feel...I might have slowed it down just a bit...your voice is lovely, and I thank you for posting your work!

It's a good choice to take the piano only. It's a perfect backing for your pretty voice.
I like it.

Joanne,

I could also hear it a bit slower. But I really enjoyed it.

I think you sound great. And loved just you with the piano.

Hi Joanne,

I just tried to have a listen but couldn't connect. I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm passing the information on for what it's worth.

All the best,
Noel

Josie and Steve. Thanks for listening. Noel, not too sure what went wrong. Seems to be okay now

Hi Joanne,

I finally got to hear it. What the problem was is the # mark in the original URL. I've highlighted it in red below.

Once I'd copied the URL, pasted it in Firefox and then removed the #, all was fine.

The song was a pleasure to listen to and the piano was a perfect choice of instrument.

All the best,
Noel

Beautiful singing Joanne. I would agree with the "slower" comments. There is a version by Michele Pillar on Larry Carlton's "Christmas at My House" CD (1989) that you can hear on Spotify - that would be just the right tempo for your wonderful voice.

It's all been said, I'll just add my kudos on the easy to listen to vocal.

You've got a nice voice, and it's a pleasant arrangement. Other than a couple of places where you're catching up with the accompaniment, there's not much to say.

Thanks for posting!
