Far From That Sweetheart of Mine - Lyrics
==========================
The good lord he did send me
To the mountains blue
And blessed me a mighty claim
But I met a girl called Lucy
Who had eyes for gold
So she went just as fast and she came

I woke up a morning
And that women she'd gone
And she didn't leave me a dime
So I'm leaving for Kentucky
Down the old gold trail
Far from that sweetheart of mine

The good lord did send me
A trapping for fur
And made me a tidy sum
When back came pretty lucy
I was back with her
Till she took all my pelts and ran

I woke up a morning
And that women she'd gone
And she didn't leave me a dime
So I'm leaving for Kentucky
Down the old gold trail
Far from that sweetheart of mine

The good lord he did send me
To taking honest work
in a hardware store so fine
When in walked pretty lucy
With a child in her arms
And she did say he was mine

I woke up a morning
And that women she'd gone
But she left me a mighty son
So each day I bless lucy and I thank the lord
For the wonders he has done

Thanks,
Greg
Greg,

I like the way you developed your story - and where it landed in the end! floyd
Thanks Floyd! At least he got summat out of the whole sorry affair
Hi Greg,

Thanks Guenter :-)
Fun interesting story. I enjoyed listening Greg.
Thanks! And thanks for listening :-) I'm glad you liked the story. I sort of feel bad for him. But he seemed happy enough in the end.
