Every now and then you just need a good ol' cry in your beer song.

My vocals and I mixed my playing Steel with some RT steel.

Thanks to all that listen and comment.

Hey Tommy, that's one cool Country Blues, man!

Thought it was Jim Reeves at first. It certainly sounds like a classic from that era. You've got the vibe exactly right and there's some beautiful guitar work in there.

Vocals and harmony are excellent and the mix is, as we say, "Radio Ready".

Really enjoyed that one. Thanks.

ROG.

Tommy, STOP WHINNING!

Good old country feel, love the hook, I've got to take the mirror off the wall line.

Great use of the tracks and blending in yours.

Tommy,

Wash them smelly old clothes and take a bath for heaven sake. LOL!

All kidding aside - sounds like a classic country cry in your beer song.

Great write and production Tommy.

Nice Tom. Could not get any more Classic than that!

That would make the Possum proud! The piano solo was nice. But, man!.. I was waiting for a cryin' fiddle as well!

Good job!

Floyd,

I think he already cooked the possum in that dirty pot.

ROG, Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.

Danny, Don't worry, I'm done whining for a while and with Thanksgiving around the corner I don't think we will be having any roadkill in the slow cooker. Thanks for the listen.

Josie, I took your advice and cleaned up a bit and I smell much better! Thanks for the comments.

Floyd, You can tell I have a few million miles under my belt listening to those old classics. I still love those old tearjerkers. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Yup... they don't write um like that any more.

Nice "she left me" song.

Now I know who to call for some live steel work should I have a song that demands it.

I have a tiny little preset for my cakewalk ParaQ eq called "Piano brightener" that I often pop into the piano track. BB & RB pianos are a bit rounded off and dull sounding straight out of the "box" and sound like they are under a blanket. This little preset cuts the bottom and boosts the highs and the mids a bit to brighten them. I'd throw something like that on that solo piano because the steel is bright and the piano when it comes in is not quite as bright.... it needs to be slightly brighter to keep the same energy level.

overall, excellent song.

Herb, Thanks for the comments. Again, a valid observation on the piano solo. You always make good points and continue to educate all of us on the necessary little things. So thanks for taking the time to do that. It is appreciated. Tom

Very cool song. Love old style country. Excellent lyrics. Old country song with a great story...

Yes...great tune Tommy. You are right it is real sob into your beer story. Not only has she left you but nobody comes round anymore!! LOL

Hi Tommy,

I really enjoyed this. The images are so very vivid! You've made great use of all the senses and pulled the listener right into the thick of your song.

Classic country couldn't be better! (Woops ... so much alliteration. Looks like floyd's Rev. Bob song has subliminally influenced me.)

All the best,
Noel

Wow, this couldn't have come at a better time. Janice and I have been in a "tears in your beer" listening mode lately --revisiting a lot of the classics, George and Tammy, Vince and Patty, Conway and Loretta, etc. And, buddy, this one fits right in the mold. No nits here. We just enjoyed the heck out of it. Good production all the way around!

Hi, Tommy !

This is so far my favourite among your
superb tunes !:))
Everything on this production is
just brilliant as is the tune itself too !
But, the best part is that you are loaded
with emotion singing this and it shines right thru !:))

Best regards
Dani

Tommy,

Nice steel playing,
The chorus sounds like you were describing me as I too "have to take that mirror of the wall" cry grin

+1 to all the other comments
