Hi All,
Here's something new. This is called
Gone Like April Showers.
All BIAB RTs - recorded and mixed in GarageBand.
Thanks for listening!
Bob
Hey Bob,
This is great. The instruments, the rhythm, the melody - all great. This is my new favourite song of yours. I loved the lyrics. To me they were about coming through on the other side of a broken relationship. That was something I found it very easy to relate to.
Excellent work!
Noel
Bob,
Good to see ya back around. I really like the sound in the first verse with just you and the guitars - a fresh, clean sound that fit your lyrics nicely. The organ threw it off a little for me... would have liked that early sound to continue throughout...
As always, an interesting listen.
floyd
Hey Noel,
Thanks so much. I've been so busy lately - not much time for music. Appreciate the kind words.
Bob
Floyd,
Thanks very much - appreciate the listen and feedback. I was going for a Garth Hudson type backing...
Bob
Great lyrics, very good all around. Thanks
Mike b.
Good to hear you are back, Bob.
A great song but the verse really hooked me, beautiful and simple.
My favourite so far I think
Alyn
Mike,
Thanks very much.
Bob
Hi Bob
As has been said, nice to see you back on the forums. Nice song. I especially enjoyed he more acoustic verse but I loved the lyrics in the chorus "so gone baby gone"
Alyn,
Thanks. So glad you liked it. Appreciate the feedback.
Bob
Hey JosieC,
Thanks so much. I think you and Floyd made the right call on this one - sounds better as an "all acoustic".
I just uploaded a new acoustic version. Thanks again for listening and commenting.
Bob
Nice one Bob. I like the acoustic feel now.
Hi Bob
A nice acoustic country song. Great lyrics - some time you gotta move on and Gone like April Showers is a neat way to put it.
cheers
ian
Bob, I always like the imagery in your songs. This one is especially good. I heard both versions and this one is much better. With the organ gone you might drop back the vocals a bit. I am used to your unique style after all these years and I always look forward to your posts. Don't stay away for so long. I really liked this. Good write and good vocals.
Great song, well song and written! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Tommy,
Thanks so much for the kind words. I agree on the vocal - I dropped it back a bit. Thanks again for listen and helpful feedback.
Bob
Thanks again Joanne!
Bob
Ian,
Always so nice to hear from you. Thanks very much.
Bob
Bob - that is a much nicer presentation of that lyric! An enjoyable listen. floyd

Hi Bob...
Really nice! We like the hook a lot! And the percussions are fabulous! Everything about this is great! We loved it!
Al & Di
Robert,
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed this one. Always look forward to hearing your new songs as well.
Bob
Dani,
Thanks. Very much appreciated - glad you liked this one.
Bob
really nice.
I think the acoustic was the right decision. I didn't hear any others since I've been kinda busy and haven't been here like I would like to be.
Nice work on the lyrics.
I like it
I think the vocals are a bit too loud. I listened on 2 devices, and yeah, I'd back them off a small amount ... just a few db should make them fit the mix better.
Thanks Herb - I did back the vocals off a bit in the last mix. Appreciate the kind words and feedback.
Bob
Al & Di,
Thanks very much. So glad you enjoyed it.
Bob
Good to see you. We've been missing the cool imagery and, man, this one doesn't disappoint.
"Gone are the shadows
Across the bedroom door
Gone are the footsteps
Bare feet on the floor"
You can really say a lot in a couple of lines. We much enjoyed this one.
Janice & Bud,
Thanks for those kind words - very appreciated.
Bob
very good write! I liked your choice of BIAB style too
Good stuff Bob. I like this one a lot.
Josie
Gruverider,
Thanks for listening and the kind words.
Bob
Bob,
I always look forward to any songs that you post on here. You always expand my imagination regarding lyrics. I just like the way you put things. It challenges me to be a better writer. This one is no exception!
