Hi, friends !:))

I should have posted this a long time ago
but I had some problems getting everything
in place. Aleck Rand was so gracious as to
play the guitar solo on this little jazzy tune.
Many thanks for that unearthly solo, Dean !:))

Lyrics:

Be In Love Again (by Dani) ©Dani Lindroos 2014

Be in love again
what a lovely feeling
I never thought I´d feel this way
I hid my love away

Then you just came by
oh, you lovely being
and now you´re mine
for you I´ll pine
you make me feel so fine, so fine

When you look at me
love is what I´m seeing
in your light gray eyes
so nice, I love you oh my babe

Long to be with you
love to feel your kissing
and thru the night
I hold you tight
and it will feel so right
so right

to be in love
fall in love
be in love
fall in love

Solo
be in love
fall in love
be in love
fall in love
I´m in love again

Dedicated to Li !

Cheers
Dani
Well Dani, every so often everything seems to fall into place and a song so exceeds expectations that it reaches to the heights of Spectacular. This is one of those songs. This is a well written song, the style, vocals, mix and especially the harmonies are all spot on. But there's more. Aleck's solo takes this one over the top. Great collaboration.

You have truly raised the bar for your future posts with this one. One of your best, if not the best you've done so far. I don't think a song and performance could fit you any better. Thanks for posting. I love this one.

Charlie
Another Dani classic with the wonderful harmonies. Love the panning you use on the vocal and also the key change. Loved Deans solo. Nice collaboration guys.
Wow! this is a keeper, I feel like going on the love boat again.

Hi Dani,

you know I love the harmonies.
Like Deans Solo. That key change sounds great.
Regards to Li.

Guenter
Great song, I have never tried doing a vocal song in odd time, this one meters so well with the lyrics; thanks for sharing!
Hi, Charlie ol´pal !:))

You are just too kind with me
but as you know I do feel most humble by
your most kind words !:))

The 5/4 meter is not necessarily
the easiest of meters to work
with and there are no soloists
(none that I know od) that can handle
a solo to that meter ! I feel most
humble that Dean offered to play
a solo to it ......and what a solo !!!

Cheers
Dani
Hi, Jo !:))

We are very glad for your
most kind words really warming
me up inside !:))

Now, my friend DA !:))

Love boat ? yeah, in fact
I was on one some time ago
when over to Stockholm with
Li:)) I am truly glad if
I managed to make you feel
that way !

Thank you, Da, for your most
gracious words !:))

Cheers
Dani
Dear friend Guenter !

I know you love harmonies
and honestly I also had you
in mind (in fact every time)
when pondering on if and in
that case how many voices to
put into the mix ! :))

Dean´s solos are nothing less than
unearthly !:))

Thank you Guenter for your
most kind words

Hi, Robert !:))

Thank you for your most kind
words ! The odd meter, yes,
there could be a lot more of
them as they often make music
more interesting than most
used meters ?

Cheers

Hi Dani,
I'm glad to tell you I can relate to the feeling!

How love makes us create these wonderful songs.
Masterful put together, and performed. In 5/4 ... I wouldn't know where to begin...

Grtz

Fred
Really interesting and cool tune!! And, what a killer solo by Dean! I feel the vocal processing could be a bit lighter and the level a bit higher in some parts. Great stuff!! Take care. Greg
Hi, Fred !:))

How wonderful that you
can relate to that feeling !!:))
Isn´t it just great !:))

I am humbled by your most
kind words ! :))
Being in love makes it
easier to write love songs
which of course is easy also
with a broken heart ?

Cheers
Dani
Hi, Greg !:))

Yes, I think you are right,
it sounds a bit heavy and
sharp at places !:))
I think we must blame it on
the poor mixing abilities of
the composer ! (chuckle) !!:))
Thank you, Greg, for your
most kind and constructive words !

Cheers
Dani
A fine example of what this BIAB community
can produce with collaborations. This sparkles
and the harmonies are gorgeous. Then you
have the cool guitar behind it all. Glad this
one fell into place for you!!

We enjoyed it.

J&B
Dani & Dean at it again!

Love when you do that "5th Dimension thing"! So smooth...

Cool jazzy solo.

Good job, boys!

Excellent collaboration.Loved it Dani. Guitar was excellent too..
Floyd,

We thank you. It's good that you didn't get to learn the whole story behind this Keystone Kops Kollaboration. I am going to leak some of it when I send a comment to Dani.

Dean
Now it's time to reveal some secrets about this Kollaboration. Yes, that's with a K, as in Keystone Kops Kollaboration.

The start: Dani proposes this great tune but I hate the BIAB accompaniment so much that I offer to completely reconstruct the accompaniment, which I do.

The middle: I go completely berserk and create an entirely new tune. Dani doesn't like it, which is entirely reasonable. It isn't his tune anymore. I give Dani all the tracks and we both walk away from it. Sometimes collaborations don't pan out. No big deal.

The Keystone Kops: During all this time, I think that it's water under the bridge. I am unaware that Pat Marr is collaborating with Dani on the very same tune, which is still quite alive! Dani sends an email asking if he can still use the guitar solo and I say, Sure!

The impossible: So I'm thinking, Dani has this BIAB accompaniment and my solo in 5/4. Like any jazz soloist, I'm always way ahead of, or way behind the beat. Listening to that solo alone, you could never tell if it was in 3/4, 5/4 or pi/4. I don't know how he did it, but Dani managed to align that solo right on the money.

And this last feat is what I want to compliment Dani on. And, to top it off, the tune becomes a big Forum hit! I want to thank Pat and Dani for not giving up.

And of course, under the circumstances, mixing, mastering and production issues had to go by the wayside. Think "The Keystone Kops Visit the Recording Studio" ... could be a pretty scary movie.

Dean
Dani's voice in stereophonic harmony, an some wonderful jazz chops from Aleck! What's not to love!
Dani, The odd meter works really well. Being a 4/4 guy it is an interesting listen for me. Great harmonies! Another lesson in jazz guitar from Dean. A very nice chord progression. Tom
Hi, Dean, good ol´partner !!!:))

You are gracious not to say that
I did not hate your version but
just could not get the singing
right upon it ! In fact your version
was much more than the BIAB version
and I felt sad lacking the ability
required !

About your solo, I chopped it up
into bits (as you know it is not so
difficult to do with mixcraft) and
put it back again I am sorry to say not
exactly as you had played it, forgive me
for that !:))

Thank you Dean for lifting the tune up
with that unearthly solo I managed almost
to destroy !!!!

Cheers
Dani
Hi, Lawrence !:))

You know you are too
kind with us but we do
appreciate your very kind
words truly much !:))

Dani
Hi, Tom !:))

We do appreciate your
most kind words very much !
There is always something magic
about 5/4 (and beside that
in fact in odd meters in general)
Dean is truly a master of playing
melodies by playing chords !
I think he is the best I´ve ever
heard doing that !!!

Cheers
Dani
Man, that wasn't an easy song! You don't ever take the low hanging fruit, do you Dani? Reminded me of the Association or Brooklyn Bridge! Please tell us a little bit about how you did the harmonies.. is that all you? Or did you use a harmonizer?

This is a real departure from anything your ever presented here before! Not just from the standpoint of an odd time signature, but also the construction of the harmonies and the ability to sing what you've created! All I can say is that this is the work of a confident man... and I guess to some extent we should thank Li for that! wink

And of course Deans jazz guitar is legendary by now... the smooth chordal melody takes any song environment and elevates it to a new level of sophistication.

Between the two of you doing what you do best, that was a very enjoyable tune in every way!
Hi, Scott !:))

We do feel most honored
by your most kind words !
Thank you so much for them !!

Cheers
Dani
Hi, Pat !:))

You know you are more
than nice with us and
we do feel most honored
by your kind words !

About the vocals: I do sing
them all just improvising
4 to 5 voices one upon the other !
I never use harmonizers, I do not
even know what they are or how to use
them ! But Pat, these vocals were not
easy to sing and I soon realized I
would not be able to reproduce them
many times so I had to stick to the
first take (the one with the clinking
piano that did not amuse Dean so he did
a completely new backing that I on my
part was not able to sing good enough upon)!
That was why I stole his solo and put it
on the first take instead !

.......Pat, yes I am pretty confident now
and......I do thank Li for that also (chuckle) !!!

Cheers
Dani
Hi Dani,

I've just had the time of my life listening to this composition. It's just great. As others have noted the harmonies are very much in the style of Fifth Dimension. It sounded like you had a great deal of fun singing with yourself. I'm incredibly impressed that you can harmonise so effortlessly!

As always, Dean's jazz guitar work sings. There is real beauty in such lyrical improvisation.

All up ... Just wow!

All the best,
Noel
Hi, Noel !:))

We do not find the right words
to thank you for such kind words !!!
Thank you somehow does not seem
enough to show how honored we
feel due to those nice sentences !:))

Cheers
Dani
