Very cool tune!! Really like the use of that solo instrument-not sure where that's from. The track has a great vibe generally. You are a very creative guy! Take care. Greg

Hey Bob. Really liked this one. I agree with Greg on the solo instrument. Would love to know what RT it is. I also really enjoyed the intro.

Greg,

Thanks - much appreciated.

The electric solo is: Guitar, Electric, Soloist SmoothJazzCool #1229. I then ran that RT through a 60s amp simulator in GarageBand to give it a bit more color.

I always look forward to your posts and this time was no disappointment. Good song, good lyrics and great mix, production and performance.

Cool stuff.... my only nit with this is that it sounds really "loud" in the speakers...and no, it's not because I have it turned up. I simply compare it to the other song's levels here.

I'd suggest backing off a bit on the levels. If you are pushing it in the mixing stages using compression and limiters to milk every last db out of the song.... there's no need to do that. Set up a reference of a commercial song.... pick one...any one.... they are all basically the same level, and try to NOT exceed that as your max level in the finished song.

Good work on this .... both musically as well as in the song writing...

Innovative idea to reamp the guitar in that manner.

Thumbs up.

Bob,

Very nicely done. The opening is cool (love the count off).
Nice build up, too. Interesting lyrics, as always... does your mind go like that all the time?

Very good mix.

Enjoyed!

I hear a well sung poetic lyric with
a great arrangement. I like the
add on guitar processing. Were
you able to render it "direct input" or
did you add the amp sim on top of
what the RT musician had put on it?
Either way it sounds cool!

Nice one!!

Joanne,

Thanks so much. The electric guitar is Guitar, Electric, Soloist SmoothJazzCool #1229. I put it through an amp simulator in GarageBand to get that particular texture.

Janice & Bud,

As always, thanks very much for listening and the kind words.

In GarageBand, the amp simulator sits on top of the RT and can be "toggled" on or off. All of the settings within the virtual amp can also be adjusted to get the desired effect.

really enjoyed this! great groove, engaging intro, and fantastic imagery with the lyrics.

When it ended I wanted a little more (that's a good sign in my book).

Bob, completely unexpected! Great intro. The lead is killer! Good job processing that guitar. Nice groove and way to step outside your usual style without losing any of the Deaness. Great listen, Tom

Hi Bob,

I nearly missed this one! With the popularity of the forum increasing exponentially these days (at least, that's how it seems to me), songs come and go from page 1 very quickly.

This is great! The groove and melody grab you and keep hold. There's lots of terrific images in the lyrics. All in all, a great musical journey.

Regards,
Noel
