So Long Miss Fickle (Feat. Lawrence Olivier)

One of my projects this year is to produce an album with various collaborators. The idea is that the album will consist of mainly original songs with other artists doing the lead vocal with me adding harmonies and/or a second part as appropriate.

Here is the first collaboration with Lawrence (Gruverider).

Lawrence made a few adjustments to the lyric and kindly recorded this magnificent vocal. He also sent me a video of him doing the recording in his home studio. I add a few harmonies and did the mixing and produced the video.

The real tracks are:
Bass 1122
Guitars 1815 and 854
Cello – A midi cello with Dimension Pro

Lyrics are:
When your breakfast is frozen and your coffee’s all gone
When your house turns to rubble and the light won’t turn on
When your pipes have all broken and your hopes washed away
Don’t think that you can come crawling to me

So long Miss Fickle,
Just like a Yo-yo, you tell me you're happy, you come and you go
You’re hot then you're cold, and you drift to and fro
Don’t think that you can come crawling to me

When your favourite pink lipstick falls right through the floor
And all of your colours, Go right out the door
Your favourite café’s closed and your tap has run dry
Don’t think that you can come crawling to me
CHORUS
There's nothing to do here no need to regret
Resentment won’t serve me in the space that it gets
My stories not over you'll hear of me yet
And one day you'll want to come crawling to me
CHORUS
Hi Joanne and Lawrence,

Such a beautiful sound. Joanne, your production (audio and video) is spectacular, stunning. Lawrence, your vocals are magnificent and then some!

I simply sat back and wholeheartedly enjoyed the journey you both took me on.

All the best,
Noel

Hey guys this is lovely.
Backed up with a wonderful video.
Rob.
Joanne / Lawrence,

This is outstanding! I've always thought this was such a great song. The combination of your voices is excellent. Great job all around and the video really brings it all home...

This one is really over the top guys. I've always liked this song and it really worked for me with the male lead vocal. Great vocals and harmonies by the way. Josie you are shining with your production skills on video and audio.

Lawrence, you nailed the lead - This was quite enjoyable. It's going to be a fun year. Looking forward to what's next.

Great production guys! Loved the fades of you two singing.

Noel, Floyd and Alyn - Thank you so much for your very kind words. Lawrence certainly did a wonderful job on these vocals and the song did suit his style. Thank you Lawrence for taking my song and transforming it!

Rob4580 - Thank you so much for viewing and commenting.

Bob(Rsdean) - I am so glad you enjoyed it.

Charlie - Thank you. There are some more in the pipeline so keep tuned! The song certainly is more interesting with as male singing lead. More appropriate. It was easy to fit the harmonies in with the wonderful lead provided by Lawrence.

Bob (90bB) - Thank you so much for listening and commenting.
very nice work.

I thoroughly enjoyed that listen.
Two of my favourites with a great song and video.
Also love the insects. Cheers.
Josie and Lawrence

J&L, I can't say it any better than that. I really enjoy the footage of you both recording the vocals. Great Job, Much Enjoyed. Tom
A great tune and a wonderful performance by all.

Bravo!

Thanks for the music,
Dan
Joanne,

It's a very nice and original idea to redo some of your songs this way. You are a gifted songwriter.
(Our contribution is coming within the next couple of weeks).
This first collaboration with Lawrence is beautifully done. It's also nice to see him in a video for a change, haha.

Indeed, like Charlie said: It's going to be a fun year!

Rob & Anne-Marie
Very enjoyable song and video - excellent sound on the trax. The song has the feel of an Irish ballad - Which can deliver a message of blessing or in this case the opposite - Miss Fickle has been served her warning! Best Wishes---Pete
Hi Joanne and Lawrence,

I nearly missed this as I already knew the title. Only found out that it's a new version right now.
I'm so glad I could listen to and watch this great
collaboration.
Just beautiful. Lawrence really adds a lot to this already nice song.
Awesome harmonies.

Guenter
Really great!! Great song, made even better with Lawrence's superb vocals (that dude can sing!!). Really loved the harmonies, the video, the whole 9. Awesome collab!! Take care. Greg
Thank you to everyone for the kind and generous comments. I think Joanne has a really special song here with some exceptional imagery and a strong narrative. It was my pleasure to participate in her project.

And thank you again Joanne for letting me play a part of it.

(and thanks go to Pgmusic for being the foundation of it all.)
Thank so much to Herb, Trevor, Tommmy, Richard, Dan, Rob and Ann Marie, Guenter, Greg, Pete and Lawrence. That you all for your very kind comments.

Lawrence thank you for providing this wonderful vocal and I think everybody is pleased to see you appear on the video (they are all pretty used to seeing me by now!)

I am very excited about this project and am looking forward to publishing some other tracks soon...

As Lawrence said, thanks to PG Music for making collaborations like this possible. There are really such a wonderful bunch of creative and talented people on this forum.
Like Guenter, I saw the title and assumed that I'd already heard the song.

Foolish me. The superlatives have all been taken, so... what they said! laugh
Nice to see and hear Lawrence doing such a fine vocal on Joanne's song. Much enjoyed.

Josie
Without reading the commentaries...
Strong... strong... strong...
Most striking to me is the timing in Lawrences vocals! Stunning!!!
