The backing tracks are a Roland Sound Canvas. Acoustic guitar was a Seagull recorded direct. I hope you enjoy this.
Thanks for the listen. Wayne,

I'll Get Us Through

The winter's comin, and there ain't no money for heat
Our cars are runnin, but the mufflers drag in the street

Let's go south where it's warm
I want to feel like I belong
I want to find us a home, once and for all

This town we live in is nice, but we can't make friends
We started over before, we can do it again

And I know that there's time
Do what we want to do
And I promise you this, I'll get us through

(instrumental verse)

And I know that there's time
Do what we want to do
And I promise you this, I'll get us through

The river's flowing and we know where it will end
There's nothing holding us here so let's not pretend

Late at night when you sleep
I hear the train whistle blow
I watch the candles burn down, and I know we must go

And I know that there's time
Do what we want to do
And I promise you this, I'll get us through

Wayne, another great write. Really enjoyed the quality of the lyrics, and especially the vocal delivery

Thanks,

Thanks. We were feeling quite alone when I wrote this.

Cool song, Wayne. As a reformed Yankee, I can relate. Of course, I did go South (and never looked back). I really dig your voice. Pure.

Bob

Awesome tune. Loved your vocal and lyrics

I too moved south and never regretted it. Winters are cold up there.

A good song. Not a lot of definition in the the music but that's likely in how it was recorded. What I mean there is that the drums and bass are really low and don't drive the music.

All in all a good song. Nice work on it.

Wayne I was born and raised in the South so I can't relate but while I was in the military I spent some time up north and brrrr was it cold. Great song and I always enjoy what you do. Your vocals are stellar and I simply love that guitar sound. My son-in-law has a Seagull but he can't make it sound like that! Enjoyed very much!

Hi Wayne.

If you live in England, moving south doesn't make much difference! Maybe I need to re-locate.

First class song. Nice choice of key which really shows your voice off to good effect.

Great backing which had a feel of the Byrds at times.

Nice guitar sound. (I'm a Tele person, too, as you can see.)

Awesome write and a great production and performance. I especially enjoyed the vocals on this. The vocal timbre and melody flow is similar in style to a product of the south - Billy Joe Royal.

Really sweet song, and great vocal!! The music was well-arranged but did not sound as clean as your music tracks on the other posts. Had that sound of being bounced analog a few times (lack of crispness, and slightly warbling). You should think about a redo of this one-great song and you sing it perfectly!! Take care. Greg
