Here is a new song for 2016. I started this on New Years Day. There were some incredible songs posted in the forum on that day so I got motivated and came up with this song. Hope you like it.
Real Bass 518
Real Drums Nashville even^8.
Guitar tracks are me.. :-)
A New Years Resolution
Beautiful song Scott. I like hearing you play the guitar. Are all those guitars that I see in your photo yours? If so, nice collection. I enjoyed listening.
Sonny
Nice instrumental. Good tone from the guitar too.
Pretty easy to listen too. Nice playing.
Hi Scott,
very nice laid back playing.
I enjoyed this relaxing song a lot.
Guenter
Very cool guitar playing Scott!
I love the clean guitar sound, are you playing a strat or telecaster here?
Rob
Hi Sonny. Thanks for checking out the song. Yes these are my guitars. There is an updated picture of them on the Soundcloud home page. Had a couple of new additions around Christmas :-)
Hi Charlie. Thanks for checking out the song and commenting it is appreciated
Videotrack Thanks as well for checking out the song and commenting it is appreciated
Hi Guenter
Thanks for checking out the song, I enjoy your music as well.
Hi Rob
Thanks for commenting on song. One this song for the melody I was using a Telecaster 52RI, for the finger pinking I was using a Les Paul R9 and for the strumming it was a Taylor 312CE. Amp was a 68 Fender Deluxe Reverb which I use for all my recordings
A good listen, Scott. Nice clean tone on the melody. And good steady job on the rhythm....

Absolutely beautiful melody and guitar playing!! I'm not sure if it was one of your songs but someone posted an instrumental that sounded a lot like Bruce Cockburn. Being a Canadian, you probably know him. This song has that same longing that his songs often create. I could listen to this all day long. Wonderful!! Take care. Greg
Great playing as always. Is that a 52 tele reissue you are playing??
Great tone.
Hi Floyd
Thanks for checking out the song and for commenting. Especially about the rhythm lol. It has been a struggle trying to get the timing right.
Hi Greg
Thank you for the wonderful comments. Yes I do know of Bruce Cockburn. He is from a time where I first discovered folk music. He is a master with lyrics and story telling.
Hi David
Thanks for checking out the song. Yes the melody is done with a Telecaster 52RI. I acquired over the Christmas break and I am getting to know it.
Scott,
Very nice tone on all the guitars. It's nice to hear a mix that's not slammed to 0 dB. You have 11.9 dB of headroom on this one.
Enjoyed it.
Regards,
Bob
Hi Bob
Thanks for checking out the song. The mixing and recording is a new thing for me but allot of fun when my fingers are sore :-). I have a developed a huge respect for sound engineers. This is an art in itself.
Nice production Scott. The entire mix
is very supportive of the cool guitar
playing and tone. Janice just said
"dreamy......" Yep, a bit hypnotic
in a very enjoyable way.
Janice said it has a "melancholy and
happy feel at the same time."
Cool!
J&B
Scott
Pretty tone - nice playing inventive.
(I assume given by the photos that you'd could probably like a few more guitars, I never seem to have enough myself)!
Hi Janice and Bud
Thank you for checking out the song and the very nice comments. They are appreciated.
Hi Peter Thanks for the kind words and yes I have the affliction. There is always room for another guitar :-)..
Sc0tt,
that is beautiful, good playing as usual
