Very well done, Rob.

A good background for the song. Well sung.

And a solid mix.

Nicely done Rob. I like your arrangement and all the instruments that you chose. Your vocals are very good and your harmony is well mixed.

Good production all the way around. Your choice of RT's
and the mix of them is very supportive of the vocal.
Very nice vocals.

I would bring the drums up ever so slightly...but that is
clearly subjective smile

We enjoyed it!

Nice nice job on this old classic.

BB lets you experiment in ways that were impossible to most musicians in the past.

I like the rendition you went with. Calm and peaceful.

The mix sounds crystal and the vocals and harmonies are spot on.

I've played with a few of the old hymns and found that they often work best when you don't sing all the verses. Pick the two or three that that mean the most to you. When you sing all or most of the verses in some of those old standards, and then on top of that, select a slower tempo.... you end up like you did here.... well past 5 minutes. It's kind of acceptable to go over 4 minutes slightly in this genre. If you're singing it as special music in a church, yeah, sing it all.

In spite of the length, a very good job on the song.

A nice, crisp recording. Very nice vocals and background harmonies. There's a country flavor to your voice that is reminiscent of Ferlin Huskey.

Enjoyed my listen.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen and comment. I love doing remakes of old hymns. I guess it reminds me of a time of innocence and mutual respect for others that seems to be missing in many aspects of our lives (mine anyway) these days. Your comments are greatly appreciated as always and I will return the courtesy as often as I can.

Rob,

This is really well put together. I'm sitting listening on some good speakers and the mix is outstanding. You've managed to highlight the vocals and have every instrument contributing with clarity to the production... really nice. Great singing, too!

A very enjoyable listen indeed.

Regards,
Noel
