My grandson Millo
Hi all,
In November 2014 I wrote the song of my then 9 months old grandson Wim.
Meanwhile he is two years old and they call him Millo. Nobody knows why.
Time to write a new version. Here it is.
RTs used:
RealDrums-SalsaChaCha^1-Congas,Timbal
RT 914_ Bass, Acoustic, ChaCha Ev 110
RT918_ Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm ChaCha Ev 110
RT706 Guitar, Electric, Soloist Bossa Ev 140
Added some Garritan Strings and Kontakt Session Horns
I hope you enjoy.

Guenter, I just LOVE these projects you create with recorded baby talk set to music! They are totally charming! In this one I especially liked the clever ending!
How on earth do you go about the task of collecting the recordings of your grandson's jibbering? Do you set up a recorder in a room where he's playing and capture whatever happens? Or do you work with him and try to get certain sounds?
Whatever you do, it sure works well! I think you've got another success story here! Speaking of which, what is the current number of hits on your original Piet song? It must be off the charts by now!
Guenter,
What an absolute delight!
The underlying music itself is excellent. Nice percussion. A very melodic bass. Crisp piano. The flow of the horns is really nice - very subtle and very supportive. The guitar is so perfectly tucked in the arrangement it took me a moment to catch it. A stunning mix.
The way you have worked Millo's phrases into a melody, a song, is brilliant. No other word for it! He is at times a crooner, at times a screaming rock star. It is an amazing accomplishment. I've already listened a half dozen times. Each phrase is a gem. Can't even imagine the time it took to create each "note" of his vocal. Great ending!
Millo (like his grandpa) is a star!
Genius.

Hi Guenter,
You sure know your way with mixing your grandson into a very smooth and professional mix!
Hi Pat,
thank you very much for your kind review.
"Do you set up a recorder in a room where he's playing and capture whatever happens?"
My son just started his smartphone and recorded a "conversation" for about 5 minutes. It took me hours to get the right clips and put them into an order (and sometimes tweaked with Melodyne).
"What is the current number of hits on your original Piet song? It must be off the charts by now!"
It's 2,250 by now. It's my most played song by far.
Guenter
Fantastic!! You did an amazing job working with the limitations of such a young vocalist. This puts the guy who did Jingle Bells with the dog barks to shame. In addition to the entertaining nature of the vocal, the music is great. Love the end!! Take care. Greg
Absolutely brilliant and cute... How did the little boy reacted when he heard him self?
Hi Guenter,
This is incredible and such a truly enjoyable listening experience.
I was sitting here listening, sometimes smiling, sometimes quietly laughing as memories of own children's early childhood passed through my mind. What an amazing musical journey you've composed!
Out of curiosity, I looked up the phrase 'joie de vivre' and found that it translates as 'an exuberant joy of life'. That is a perfect description of this song. You've created a three minute and thirty three second package of pure delight that explodes with the joy of life.
I totally loved it!
All the best,
Noel

Extraordinary. Just really clever!
You know Guenter !
I love you and your grandson too !:))
This brings me back to those days
when my own kids were of Millo´s age !:))
Dennis, Danita and Daniela, that is !:))
WOWOWOWOW !
Cheers
Dani
Hi Floyd,
thanks so much for your very profound and nice
review.
"Can't even imagine the time it took to create each "note" of his vocal."
You're right. But it took most time until I dared to start.
Guenter
Hi Rob and Anne-Marie,
thanks a lot for your kind comments.
Guenter
Hello, Guenter
Very lovely.
In time to the rhythm of the cha-cha, it is indescribably pleasing the way your grandson is playing with toys.
It seems like that he is in front of my eyes.
And your music is excellent as usual.
Garritan Strings and Kontakt Session Horns are very elegant.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best Regards
Shigeki Adachi
Hi Greg,
thanks a lot for your nice positive feedback.
Guenter
Extraordinary and exquisite. Great mix -
Inspirational post and you are very deserving of the accolades forthcoming.
What I found to be most inspirational: Guenter reply to: "Can't even imagine the time it took to create each "note" of his vocal."
"You're right. But it took most time until I dared to start."
To read your remark as I sit here and procrastinate on a cover I'm working on for someone. - Humbling wake up jolt.
Off to mix I go....
Guenter,
That made me smile. HIs sweet little voice is so cute and I love that laugh. I can imagine him "cha chaing" around the house and getting into everything.
It's really amazing how you put this together so that his voice fits so well with that great backing track like it does. And the ending made me laugh out loud.
Well done Grandpa!
Hi Trygve,
thanks a lot for listening and commenting.
I don't know how he reacted. He lives 700 km away and
I must wait until our next Skype session.
Guenter
Hi Noel,
thanks a lot for one of your fantastic reviews.
It's always so encouraging to read.

The word is used too often and too frequently it's used carelessly...
but I'm going to use it in the dictionary definition as it should
be used. And that word is:
BRILLIANT!
And as stated in my online dictionary:
exceptionally clever or talented.
"a brilliant young mathematician"
synonyms: bright, intelligent, clever,
smart, astute, intellectual;
Anybody on this forum who does extensive mixing has to
have an appreciation of the work and love that goes into
a production like this. If it was just a rough idea, or some
experimental project it would be good but to produce
such a finished and polished track as you did is
amazing.
Congrats again on the display of what can be achieved
with talent and BiaB.

Hi Peter,
thanks a lot. I'm glad you liked it.
Guenter
Oh! I love the "Cha Cha Cha" at the end! I smiled out loud!
Masterfully done!
Ah Guenter. You are pure genius. I see you Piet has done very very well on Soundcloud. I enjoyed this very much. I hope it can also fly!
Hi Dani,
thanks a lot.
"Dennis, Danita and Daniela" that's what I call
consistent.
Guenter
I'm laughing so hard I almost slid off my chair. Nice!!
Hi Shigeki,
thanks a lot.
You're right, sometimes the sound of toys is weaving
with the rhythm.
Guenter
Hi Charlie,
thanks a lot.
I hope you have started to work on your cover.
Guenter

Hi Guenter,
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful song. It really made me happy. I have three grandsons. One of them is also two years old. Now I knew that babies of this age seem to speak a common language
