Hi all,
I always wanted a chance in trying-2-write/sing
a Las Vegas style song...

Hello World

Hello to my allergic fans.
The ones who stay away from me.
I wrote a song for you today, but wait...

If it's not your day today.
Don't blow it out of proportion.
If it's not your cup of tea.

One day they'll find
a cure for you and me.

Can you hear what you’re saying?
I know it's just for you.
You alone

Maybe it time, just to
kick that habit.
You’re not what you think.
Just click on the link.

Why lie, at the drop of a hat?
No need to make me happy.
I'm caught red handed.

Nothing I can do.
Nothing I can choose.

Can you hear what you’re saying?
I know it's just for you.

As we cut to the chase,
each will fall in it's place.
Except if you dare.
Dare to take the chance.

Once in a blue moon
Once in a blue moon
A change that's not a mask!

Can you hear what you’re saying?
I know it can't be true.

A pope making a one world religion.
I wonder if it's to big to fail?

Do you know deja vous?
That's alright, it will come to you.
That's what I just said...

You got to make up your mind, and soon
I know it's just for you.
I've been thinking for awhile now...
Don't call us, will get right back to you.

Hello World (SoundCloud)

I hope you like it, it's my first singing post with BIAB

Very jazzy! Really liked this! Kinda Donald Fagen and I mean that in a REALLY good way.
Posted By: LPman Re: Hello World - 10/03/16 12:36 PM
thanks David Snyder,
I had to look up Donald Fagen, then I understood what you meant.
My lyrics are spaced like his. Thanks very much for your post.
I am listening to your song.

Cool, hope you like it!

Yeah, I really liked this too. I was about to say it reminded me of Steely Dan but then I googled Donald Fagen smile Great job, being compared to Steely Dan is just about the highest honour I can think of!

Thanks : Will B - PG Music
I am honored, when I started making this song, I was thinking of SNL Bill Murray. he did a skit playing piano. the song he played started very sloppy, but it's what he was doing, singing in away, like I don't care whatever...

Thx very much for your post ;-)

Very good!
You sound very comfortable singing in this style - not at all easy to get that conversational feeling of the vocal.
The lyrics are well written too.

Thanks Robertkc

I used idioms, for the lyrics. I started off with can you hear what you're saying. I took that line and tried putting it all over the song. it was the only way to find where is the chorus. it is a very awkward progression, normalizing it into a regular song, was the real challenge.

Thank you so much for your post!

Cool feel to the song.

Hello LPMan, Very smooth! The play between the vocals, sax and piano blend really nicely together!

Great funky jazz feel!! Really well put together. I think your vocal really works with this style. Like David, I can hear some Fagan, and I also am a big fan. Cool stuff!! Take care. Greg

Since I've been a kid I've always hated my voice because I listen to a tape recorder.. Saying that's not me

I am still trying to find the right song for my voice....

But I am thankful for the support I get from PG music thank you

Hi LPMan,

I enjoyed it too and can definitely hear shades of the Steely Dan/Donald Fagen.
I like the vocal sound; kind of close mic/intimate.
Also the uneven verse structure suits the song.

Good work.

LPMan - add me to the list of everyone here that's already enjoyed this song... it has a great jazzy feel to it, and your lyrics are catchy too!

This is our "Hot Forum Topic" for today smile

thanks receder,

I'm singing quiet quietly, with the mic on the side of my mouth
(trying not to breath to loudly). I don't want to wake a toddler above me. The people up stairs say, "we never hear you"... Which is how I want to keep it!

you said "the uneven verse structure suits the song..."

I was very close to scrapping this song... over saturation of hearing it too often.... Playing it over and over while I was a sleeping... wondering if the lyrics are coherent...

I listened to your SoundCloud channel, and subscribed smile

Thanks Callie - PG Music,

I never been a hot topic.....

I am not sure if this is a tip
or a disability... lol

The following lyrics were the first sung
like a sculptor seeing a partial image in a rock:
-----------------------------------------------------
Nothing I can do.
Nothing I can choose.

Can you hear what you’re saying?
I know it's just for you.

Once in a blue moon
Once in a blue moon

-----------------------------------------------------

This song was not developed in a linear way...
I was quite lost, trying to figure out, what is this
song going to be about....

I used a long list of idioms... yes, my lyrics are jury rigged.
Like I'm acting as a lawyer, trying to lead the jury by a style
so the jury forgets what the trial is about...

I been scouting PG-music songs and users who responded
to this song.... how you guys/girls write lyrics...
is far more poetic than I capable of....

Thanks for your post Callie smile

Lol, that's funny re the toddler. I never record anything at night as my 5 yr old is asleep by 7pm and my "home studio" is not far from her room.

I'm so glad you didn't scrap the song. Thanks for subscribing, I have followed back smile

Cheers

Really interesting song - nice phrasing and interplay between the backing and the vocal.

I liked "When I grow up" because it makes me smile....
and it doesn't complicate life.
