This is a song I wrote many years ago while dealing with a very tough situation in my life. My wife and I had just had our third child who was born with a severe handicap and I didn't feel I was up to the challenge of being the parent she needed. One day it dawned on me that I needed to have faith that I could handle the responsibility placed before me with God's help and thus a song was born. I put this song together using only RealTracks working for days just trying to get the balance I needed between the tracks and getting the sax fills just the way I wanted. These tracks are all from the Jazz Ballad set with a Sax soloist.I am sorry I don't have the exact track numbers I unknowingly deleted the BIAB song after rendering the tracks. I did not feel it needed any extra instrumentation ( guitar, percussion etc. )I added only vocals and some extra processing. I Hope that It blesses someone. Lyrics are in Youtube video.

Torrey,

That`s a powerful introduction to an uplifting song.
I would have enjoyed it even without knowing the inspiration - its a good song and your vocal is soulful ( your voice reminds me of Jesse Colin Young).
I really liked the harmonies and the melody on the bridge.
Nice simple arrangement and the sax works very well.

Robert covered it well. Inspirational, heartfelt vocal with soul and fine harmonies.

The arrangement worked well also.

There's a LOT to like here!

Well produced and mixed... and sung from the heart...

The chorus is especially catchy - it is still in my head...

Hello, Torrey

Very excellent song!
The chord progressions are very nice.
The chromatic lines of A part melody are beautiful.
And the modulation to minor key at B part melody is very well constructed.
Your vocal and chorus are great.
This tune is a royal road to pop music.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

Love that Sax RealTrack. I agree with you, the instrumentation is pretty perfect as-is. A really beautiful story, too -- you can hear how much it means to you just by listening to that vocal.

Torrey,

This is so very beautiful. You've written, arranged, performed and produced an incredible work of art. The musical texture of smooth-jazz meets laid-back easy-listening meets inspirational is perfect! As I listened, I found your music mesmerising and your lyrics and singing captivating. I really enjoyed this journey.

All the best,
Noel

+1

great work, torrey!

great testimony and vocals – and the sax-fills works very musically with the vocals

have you used a heavy compressor on the master of this production?
the levels are peaking red (maximum) on my system – and it's kind of pumping in my monitors
