Hi. Had a year break and missed the forum.
The intonation is a bit shaky on this but as good as I can get it.
Hope you enjoy it and all comments are welcome especially constructive criticism. Cheers.

All done in RealBand.
RealDrums - Country even 8
Accordian - RT 1173 - Rhythm pop calypso
Rhythm - my Danelectro baritone guitar (learning to play it)
Bass - my Pedulla

Walking one evening by the Bay the question came up 'what happens to us when we die'. Everyone has different ideas/beliefs on this (so I wouldn't debate it ) but what if they were all correct and whatever you believed is what happens to you?

Don't Really Know

Wandering and wondering what'll I do Lights on the water lead me to you
Mist on the mountain muddies my mind If I keep searching what'll I find

She watches ships slip smooth thru the port Watches gulls soar silken skys
Squeezes my hand as we pause on the board-walk turns, looks me in the eye

A question what happens to us when we die

What you be-lieve what you feel is true it's the most likely thing that will happen to you
Heart leads soul where it needs to go But no-one comes back so we dont really know

For some peaceful sleep like a warm cozy bed for others a city of light
So many people the paths that they tread e-ven-tually they all u-nite

What you be-lieve what you feel is true it's the most likely thing that will happen to you
Heart leads soul where it needs to go But no-one comes back so we dont really know

Richard,

It's great to see you back in the forum. You've been gone way too long! You certainly haven't lost the knack for vivid imagery.

My favourite lines...

Quote:
She watches ships slip smooth thru the port
Watches gulls soar silken skies
Squeezes my hand as we pause on the board-walk
Turns, looks me in the eye
A question what happens to us when we die?

I found the above highly visual. It's a very strong sequence of lyrics.

All the best for Christmas and beyond,
Noel

Thank you Noel. It's good to catch up with you. I know you have done some good songs this year and will be glad to start listening and making inappropriate comments again. And all the best to you for Christmas and beyond ( I like that expression ) Cheers.

Thanks for the comment here and on soundcloud Scott. Gives me a bit of a buzz - and a focus - to be back in contact. Cheers.

Nice work, good song - liked the Danelectro guitar bits - sounds like you are doing well learning to play.

An interesting write, Richard - which is always the case with you... and a very interesting conclusion - quite novel...I've never heard that suggested before...clever.

Some nice alliteration. Great to have you back around...

..Christmas and beyond to you!.. Did the earthquake affect you?

Richard, it's really great that you put some of your own playing in here. Well done. The idea behind your theory is an eye opener. Something to consider. Glad you're back and Happy Holidays. Tom

Thanks for that Peter. The Danelectro certainly has its own sound. Big stretches on the baritone though. Cheers.

Yeah greetings Floyd. Christmas and beyond to you and yours.
Although there's been quite a bit of earthquake activity I haven't felt any and hope it stays that way.
I really like the idea of everybody being right and all getting what they believe they'll get.
Maybe it's even true!
Cheers.

Hi Tom. Best wishes Christmas and beyond.
Didn't turn out quite as i'd envisioned but it's a song I've needed to write.
Much as I love RealTracks sometimes it's easier to just play a part in.
Thanks to all for making me feel welcome. Cheers.

"What you be-lieve what you feel is true
it's the most likely thing that will happen to you
Heart leads soul where it needs to go
But no-one comes back so we dont really know"

Zen like yet even more personal.

Welcome back and, man, what a thought provoker.

We like it. A lot.

Thank you Greg. Your comments are always very supportive and helpful.
You wouldn't believe how much time I spent on this song. But I wrote it for Shirley-Louise really so not time wasted. Will be sticking around. Cheers.

A question what happens to us when we die

Nice narrative lines to ease us into that Big Question! I enjoyed listening and pondering. The accordion works really well as does your bass.
The video images look much like Vancouver- where were they taken?

Thank you Robert. Video is Tauranga Harbour in the North Island here in NZ.
We often stroll the boardwalk along Pilot Bay which is the song setting.
Enjoyed your comments. Cheers.

Hi Sergio and thanks for the comments.
Good to see you.
Tried a few different things but the simple accordion was just what i wanted.
Spoiled for choice with all those RealTracks.
Cheers.
