HI all

This is my first proper track with BIAB (I still have a lot to learn).

This is a song I have wanted to record for a long time - I wanted it to have a similar sound to "Raindrops keep falling on my head" from the soundtrack to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. This is a sound I have not been successful with until discovering the sounds in BIAB!

Lyrics

[C]Snow cones and boats
[F]Tequila and lime
[G]I play out the songs
[Am]the river marks time
[A]Watching the water [Dm]flow
In the springtime [C]sun
Watch the people [G]come
Watch the people [C] go

River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away
River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away

Reflections on the water
Cypress scents the air
Echoes of a lover
Tossing back her hair
Long ago when life was new
When the world was young
When it all began
When I first held you

River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away
River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away

An Alamo spring
Everything feels right
Sounds of Mariachi
Somehwhere out of sight
Missions, mesquite and wine
memories of a girl
From a lovely world
In a different time

River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away
River walk, she walks with me, easing my troubles away

Very nice song. Much enjoyed.
Really like to see the chords .
Makes it easy to follow (and play).
Wish everyone would include them!
Cheers.

Andrew/Ron

Welcome! A good first post. Well written. Nicely produced and mixed. A pleasing vocal.

It does have a "Raindrops" feel...

Enjoyed it.

Hey, this doesn't sound like Willie Nelson at all!
(just kidding)
I really like the bubbly upbeat sound and nice melody
I know this place well, I'm a Texan far from home these days
We were down last October, it was 97 degrees in the shade
but much cooler down on the riverwalk.
love San Antone, maybe get back there for good someday

nice write, enjoyed

Andrew and Ron,

I enjoyed the listen. As others have noted, the vibe is uplifting and engaging. I really liked the combination of Realtracks you've chosen. They sound great.

Definitely a post to be proud of.

All the best,
Noel

Thanks Rich - I think I may have left the chords in there by accident (if I dont write them down I make mistakes when I pull them out for the open mics!)

Thanks Floyd - I am sure my effort wont ever win the awards that the raindrops song did, but it would be nice to place it somehow with San Antonio tourism... that said I need to find one of my songwriting buddies with an American accent to sing it!

Thanks Kenny - I fit into the "I wasnt born here but I got here as soon as I could" crowd. I do love the "feeling" of the river walk though - seperated from the cars and traffic :-)

Cool song and welcome to the neighborhood....

Hope to hear more music from you.

I have a photo on my desk in front of me of my 2 daughters along the river walk. We vacationed in Texas some time back and did a few day trips and San Antonio was one of those. It was a fun place.

Welcome- there`s a very happy go lucky good feeling to your song which I enjoyed.Had me singing along by the end.
The simple arrangement works well( nice moment when the banjo comes in) and not knowing the location, for me your English accent was no issue.
