Many of you will remember Paddy Gobel. He has posted lots of beautiful songs on this forum in the last year. We are very sorry to inform you that he passed away. His daughter Lydia asked us to let you know.
Paddy was our friend and musical companion. He was a very gentle man and a talented lyricist/songwriter. We dedicate this song to him.
So sorry to hear about Paddy. I had a few conversations with him and really enjoyed his lyrics. It's a sad day and I will keep his family in thought and prayer. Beautiful tribute.
Rob & Anne-Marie, Thank you for letting us know. In the short time I`ve been listening I`ve enjoyed Paddy`s songs a great deal. This is a beautiful tribute from his friends in music.
I, too, had many email exchanges with Paddy - for about a year before he first posted on the forum. He was an interesting man and a thoughtful lyricist.
Rob and Anne-Marie.. that was just beautiful! Your harmonies are flawless. I always forget between songs just how good your voices are! Its as though they have to be heard to be believed.
And what an artfully tasteful way to portray a soaring spirit. The slow motion makes an already graceful movement seem almost poetic even without the music.. but together each elevates the other.
So sorry to hear about Paddy. There are lots of people on the forum, and I suppose it is natural to feel closer to some than to others. I always thought Paddy was a special kind of guy, someone with a heart and a desire to live in harmony with his conscience. He was the kind of guy anybody would want as best friend.
Anyway, thanks for keeping us apprised of the news (sad as it may be), and thanks for the lovely tribute to the gentle spirit we knew as Paddy.
