This is a country version (a genre I usually don't play but love)of a more upbeat song I posted quite a while back. I really felt it would work well with a country style. I hope it lifts someone's spirit.

(Verse 1)
I always tried to hide it, a pride too strong to fight it
It never turned Your love from me
For years I kept denying, my heart was cold and dying
I was so blind but now I see
I’m not alone in this lost and crazy world
(Chorus)
Your love has no end You gave me one more chance
When I’d fallen so far away
You’ve proven You’re my best friend
You kept me believing that I would see
A brighter day
(Verse 2)
For me all hope was fading just like a ship that’s sailing
Lost out on stormy open seas
Your love is so amazing, the only thing that saved me
I’ve found the very thing I need
You took my fears and You cast them all away
(Bridge)
You could have turned Your back on me
You could have walked away
You’ve proven You’ll be faithful until the end

You have a very nice, professional sound. It's strong pop-country song. Your mix is excellent as is the vocal. Love the chord arrangement on the chorus. Thanks for a great listen! Best to you,

Hello, Torrey

Very catchy song as always.
Vocal and lead guitar are great and pleasant.
And a unique chord progression is your character.
As if I am listening to the country song written by Paul McCartney.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best regards.

I like this song. The chord progression is unique. It reminded me how songs used to be written.

My only nit with this is the treatment you chose for the vocals. Sounds like a phase shifter or maybe a doubler that's too high, on the vocals. I'd rather hear a more natural voice with just some verb.... that would be more intimate. You have a good voice, no need to hide behind FX.

Sounds great!
Can't pin down just where or when but I heard a little
touch of Dan Fogelberg in there who wrote and sang
beautiful songs. Very nice melody
Enjoyed

Torrey,

This does work just fine in a country style and I enjoyed the song in both versions- wish I could write melodies that sound so original!
Maybe that great guitar intro on the earlier version just shades it for me between the two.

Excellent feel, right from the first note.

I particularly like some of the chord changes, they provided unusual but masterful anticipation.

This is quite exceptional, complete with excellent vocals throughout.

This does work as a country song quite well. I enjoyed this version but prefer the earlier version a bit better. Likely just because I've played that one more than a few times and have become accustomed to it.

The mix and production are really nice.

This has a feel of a Sonny James song to me.

Torrey,

I really like this version. Has sort of a Michael Martin Murphey sound/feel to it...

Nice.

A top class song Torrey, I particularly liked the changes in the very catchy chorus, and the vocal harmonies. The instruments drop out in the outro is very smart! The mix is simply superb - perfectly balanced and lots of sparkle.

Hi Torrey.
Very clean and clear and a beautiful song.
I also would enjoy less processed vocals.
Cheers.

Thanks Herb and RichMac for listening and commenting on my song. As to your remark about a less processed vocal sound, I tried it both ways and the less processed sound just did not sound good to my ears. It left the song sounding dull and plain. I never feel as though I'm hiding behind an effect. I go for the best sound for my voice and feel confident in what I have used. Thanks

I remember this one. Loved it then and love it now!! I think the other format works a bit better but both are very nice. I always enjoy hearing your stuff! Take care. Greg
