Hello, everybody

It will be the season of cherry blossoms soon in Japan.
It will begin to bloom at the end of March and will be in full bloom at the beginning of April.
Cherry blossom seeing is held everywhere in Japan, and in the evening cherry blossoms are lighted up and we can enjoy them all the night.
Hundreds of cherry blossoms also are planted along the banks of the river flowing in my city, and I am looking forward to this season every year.

This is a song of such cherry blossom season.
It is one of the songs in the ballroom dancing CD that I had produced for a dance instructor a few years ago.
It is written to be able to dance at the tempo of Viennese Waltz.
Comments encouraged.
Have at it.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics

Cherry petals are dancing in the wind
One of them falls to my lips
I feel like romping around
With a premonition of love

Under the cherry tree
A lot of petals are falling
I tried floating the petal
To my cold glass

I murmur to myself “I love you”
“I want to be dyed gently with your color”

Pretending to be forgotten
Spring will come around
I'm in love with someone
In the season of cherry blossoms like a child

In a drunk momentum I say “I love you”
It is because of drinking
That our eyes are intertwined with each other.

Embraced by night cherry blossoms
I will sleep peacefully
Turning off the lights
I want to stop the time
I love short-lived cherry blossoms
I miss such cherry blossoms
You are so consistent in the high quality of your production. Everything in the mix sets perfectly and the vocal is right where it should be. Your work is extraordinary and has such a professional quality. The arrangement is perfect for the song.

This is a beautiful song and expertly crafted. So enjoyable.

Shigeki Adachi,

High praise from Charlie - very well stated, so I copy it. Well deserved praise...

Top quality in all regards. Beautiful

floyd
Another beautiful song Shigeki. Lovely vocal
Wonderful song, Shigeki! Thank you for providing a lyric translation, it's a very beautifully written song. The production is immaculate as always!
Another song that cannot go unnoticed. This is really beautiful in so many ways.

The choice of a Jazz Waltz just sits so perfectly. Mancini would be very pleased.

Going back for another listen.
Mancini would be pleased indeed. Another beautifull song with great vocal and terrific strings.

Hello,

very relaxing song, excellent production
This melody seems to take me in another time.

Sergio
Hi Shigeki,

Nice and loungy with really nice vocals.
We have a cherry tree in the garden. It will be in full bloom somewhere in April (depending on the weather) and it really is a most wonderful blossom.
So is this music.

Rob and Anne-Marie
Shigeki,

Lovely music...I can see the waltzers while listening!
An impeccable production - the accordion is a very nice addition.
There are so many nuances in your work - like the way you bring the strings down for the piano break.

Robert
Charlie said it all so well,

this is excellent

the melody reminds me of Burt Bacharach

very nice

Kenny
Hello, Charlie, floyd, Scott, Will, Trevor, Rob, Sergio, Rob & Anne-Marie, Robert and Kenny

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your very kind words and your continuous supports.
I am very happy you all like this Jazz Waltz.

"The Days of Wine and Roses" is one of my favorite songs.
And maybe, this tune resembles "The April Fools" of Bacharach a little bit.
Mancini and Burt Bacharach are my favorite composers.

There was an announcement of the flowering time of the cherry blossom in this region in the afternoon news.
I am very much looking forward to it.

Thank you again to all.
Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi
Shigeki,

I love this sound, and this style of music. You do it so well, the melody is enchanting.

Please keep writing more!

Shigeki, everything you bring us on this forum is great and this one is fantastic! I appreciate your work. Thanks, Torrey.
Mr. Adachi!

So, what have we here, my friend? Another side, another face, another sound, another room in the musical mind of Shigeki Adachi???

Where to start? I love any music composed in waltz time, no matter what genre it is. That "one, two, three / one, two, three, / one, two, three" rhythm, it just makes me feel as happy as a child when I hear it.

The addition of the accordion is de-light-ful, and on a jazz kick, at that! Michel Legrand would probably love this, too.

Your vocalist, Ms. Natsuki Yoshikawa...does she swing, or does she swing?! Heck, yes, she does! I believe, I'm very sure, I'm almost certain, that this is first time I've ever heard a Japanese vocalist singing jazz, Shigeki, and it's finger-snapping, toe-tapping good. Ms. Yoshikawa's performance communicates sheer, unadulterated, jazz-singing pleasure. I'll bet she sings jazz while she's cooking her dinner, or vacuuming a rug, and with a smile on her face as she does so.

And who wrote these lyrics?

“I want to be dyed gently with your color”. Man, that is hot! In fact, the sentiments expressed by the words seem somewhat more dramatic and passionate than the upbeat, uplifting tone of the song would suggest. It's a startling contrast of feelings, like watching the sun come up, and then go down, all at the same time...

Congratulations, Shigeki, on treating us to this cool and hot little number, and with such a lovely title, too.

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")
Hi, Shigeki !

Wonderful Jazz Waltz !
Loved it ! Great Music !

Cheers
Dani
Very well done, Shigeki! Another fine arrangement, well produced. As has been stated, has a real Mancini feel - and that's a real compliment!

Great job!

Steve
Shigeki

Beautiful and deserves all the high praise and accolades received so far.
Your songs are undeniably professional.

Peter
Shigeki,

I love this song and the vocalist part. Excellent job !
Hello, David, Torrey, Loren, Dani, Steve, Peter and Angelo

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your very kind words.
I am very glad you all like this tune and Natsuki's vocal.

Loren,
Michel Legrand is one of my most favorite composers.
I always truly appreciate my vocalists, especially Natsuki Yoshikawa who is very good at jazz tunes.
Without their vocals I could not produce my music.
And these lyrics were written by the dance instructor with whom I had produced the ballroom dancing CD.
He is not only a good dancer, but also a good lyricist and vocalist.
The other ballroom dancing tunes in the CD can be listened at the link below, please visit there if you like.

I totally agree, and couldn't have said it better myself Charlie! I always enjoy listening to songs posted by animarorecords!

This is today's Hot Forum Topic!
I loved this. Even though I can't understand the lyrics, the vocal is like listening to a wonderful new instrument. Simply beautiful.

Many, many years ago (back in the 1980's) I was an active participant in the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade committee in Washington, DC (I was in charge of marching bands for the parade for two years in a row), to celebrate the trees that line the tidal basin as a gift from Japan many years ago, and so realize how important the tradition of cherry blossom season is.

Thanks again for posting this.
Great music and lovely song. Very relaxing.

I enjoyed listening to it whenever I need to get a rest from my daily busy works.
Shigeki,

This is just so good! I enjoyed it very much. I guess I can only second what's already been said.... Outstanding!

Hello, Callie, John, Flora and Greg

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your very kind words.
I am very glad you all like this jazz waltz.

John,
Many thanks for your comment to the tradition of cherry blossom season.
In the news of the other day, a newscaster reported that the buds of the cherry blossoms in Washington, DC received little damage in this year due to the cold weather, I am extremely worried.
The pictures below are from the cherry blossom festival in my town.
They are previous pictures because not yet flowering this year.
There are many places that are held more grandly, but, as it is located in five minutes' walk from home.

Thank you again to all.
Best regards.

The pictures = breathtaking! Just... wow.

We have our Cherry Blossom bloom season here in Victoria, BC also... it's going on right now! I was walking downtown the other day and it was actually "raining" petals on me!

-Callie
Absolutely beautiful!

And it's why so many flock to our nation's capital every year to see them. I was worried about the cold snap, especially the snowstorm they experienced the day before the season was to start in Washington, DC.

Thank you for those great pictures. They are beautiful, and walking among the trees is a treat.
Your production and mixing is top notch.

Marry that to a beautiful vocal and well crafted lyric and you have a remarkable song.

A pleasure to listen to.

Charlie beautifully stated our sentiments. We have a cherry blossom festival near us but a very early spring caused them to all bloom well before the festival. Your photos add a great perspective to the tune.

This is very, very well written, arranged and performed!

Congratulations on a top notch production.

Hello, Janice & Bud

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your very kind words and your continuous supports.
I am so sorry to hear a very early spring caused the cherry blossoms in your region to all bloom well before the festival.
Spring is late this year in my region, cherry blossoms finally bloomed recently, but the weather report announced that it would rain this weekend. Indeed, cherry blossoms do not always go the way we want them to.

Best regards.

Could not have said it better. I really appreciate your very classic influences. Awesome job!! Take care. Greg
Hello, Greg

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your very kind words and your continuous supports.
Maybe my classic influences are caused by hearing much more American standard songs than Japanese pops since I was a child.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi
Shigeki Adachi,

I sincerely apologise for taking so long to comment on this creation. It's beautiful, really beautiful. Natsuki Yoshikawa's singing is a perfect fit for an incredibly vibrant composition.

This is definitely one of the best arrangements I've heard on Users Showcase. You've really done an amazing job. Your skill is outstanding!

Best regards,
