Here is a new song that I wrote after I attended a gathering of about 30 folk musicians in Alpharetta Georgia at the end of April: Alpharetta in the Spring.

The featured RT is Brent Mason's nylon guitar.

Alpharetta in the Spring

Traveling deep into the night

Georgia moon is shining bright

A home away from home is where I’m bound

Won’t worry ‘bout a thing

I’m a bird out on the wing

Alpharetta, Alpharetta in the Spring

Treasured friends some time ago

Said come down so you will know

Feelings you’ve never had before

Taking in what life will bring

I’m a kite without a string

Alpharetta, Alpharetta in the Spring

A soft breeze is capturing lilac

And memories to which I still cling

Haven’t got a care

Drinking in the southern air

Alpharetta, Alpharetta in the Spring

I’m thinking tonight of my dearest

And the songs we so loved to sing

Sweet voices fill this room

With an oft-remembered tune

Alpharetta, Alpharetta in the Spring

Fred,

This is a very cool folk song. Love the laid back, but traditional feel. Excellent job - really enjoyed this.
